The point is her counterparts in other countries can concentrate more on tennis than "any other things". Definitely she doesnot have a champion quality in herself, just an average good player who could have been above average if she could put all her motivations on tennis only...too much attention from media spiled her hunger for improvement...i doubt even ana invanovic gets so much attention as she gets..!!!!...only way is to have some more same quality players who can play in top 100 easily can diminish her stature from media and then only she can reach her limit...i dont believe she hasnot got good trainig facilities, ana ivanovic practised in bombarded swimming pool, sania gets better facilities than hers...end of day it depends on herself also to motivate seriously to learn and do the best...something like sachin tendulkar has done even with billion eyes constantly on him...

Another case of poor understanding of sportman. Ivanovic has another 10 players in her country who will be giving her a tough fight even in local tournaments back home, if you pull out top 150 many will be from her home town itself.
Who is there in India to take sania even to a 4 set match?? None. That makes her a selling commodity for Ads walas in india. not her fault.
come out of cricket world, it is game of jokers as they say in australia [who are world champs, India is 5th in total 9 test playing nations], if we play the same number of matches as the Newzealand or England team plays probably India will be just ahead of Zimbabwe...
Indian cricketer play from their own records, that is the reason that even in 2008 we are celebrating the Win of 1983 world cup .LOL.. and probably this will be celebrated till 2083...and that time some sports minister will put of garland on statue of Kapil and his daredevils...

now come on, its just an excuse that she didnot get female players like her around her to make herself better...pls check her background, she is playing outside india with better players for last 4-5 years, that gives enough chances to pull up the socks...making her a commodity may be a fault of ad walas...but accepting them and lose focus on the game is her fault...rather her coach or father's fault....eod her parents want to earn as much money as possible thru her...middleclass mentality...well a champion is a champion always...when one dont have that he/she gives excuses...thats the case with her...i was reading some news paper in my local language where she is covering up wimbledon , may be thats written by her father who knows, but whatever she is saying sounded to me poor excuses, have heard them so much in other cases , change of matter doesnot escape my eyes...
Sania has disappointed!! Not the real sania but the one appearing in this pic above.. !!! she is a real treat to watch.. isnt she?!! Tremendous "growth" at such a young age.. when was just 18 and ever growing!!!
NOTHING'S NEW IN THIS NEWS. REDIFF CAN SAVE THIS TITLE FOR THE COMING YEARS. ONLY THE NAME OF THE OPPONENT AND CHAMPIONSHIP NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. SANIA AUNTY IS BORN TO LOOSE IN 2ND ROUNDS OF ANY GRAND SLAMS. BUT STILL WE INDIANS FEEL PROUD THAT ATLEAST SHE PLAYS A GRAND SLAM. LIKE SHAHRUKH SAYS IN ONE AD "HAB SAB SANTUSHT HAI". EVERYONE SHOULD STOP CARING/GIVING HYPE IN MEDIA ABOUT THIS YOUNG LADY. IN THIS WAY SHE WILL CONCENTRATE ON TENNIS ONLY AND THEN ONLY WILL SHE ACHIEVE THE DESIRED RESULTS. GOD BLESS HER.

Your comments are absolutely right. It is a media hype and secondly over a period of time she has become head strong and arrogant.
Her concentration is more on advertising business rather than on game. I don't think in her life time she can make it to Wimbledon champion.

Why this blind optimism? losing to a player who is 70 places behind you is losing to Hong Kong in cricket. These are not signs of a good player. For the amount of time she has spent on the international scene she should play much better.

sweetheart, do you know what is grandslam? when ego and attitude go to your head, u will not go past 2nd round, especially, when it comes to woman. have you ever seen the smile and humbleness of Justin Henin or Davenport?

Abey commie sex-mad maddu, Govt. did not spend any money on her. She is playing on her own. Sponsorship money is provided by companies who think it helps their brand image.
