u cant blame ckt for ignoring other sports. its all about money. Even the DD is interested only in making money though it has certain obligations towards society to telecast which are necessary for the ppl. Just look at the Jr hockey team. they r winning in finals but no telecast even in DD. how can v blame hockey players for their plight. when they dont get enough encouragement this vl what happens to sports in our country.

Hope we Indians..will start looking in to other games as well..rather then just sticking on to Cricket...This is the main reason why we are not able to make a foot mark on any such great events like Olympics...Anyways...Wish u all the best Akhil...!!!

Thanks. Even in cricket our Captain is tired to play for country but not tired playing in IPL. to win in Olympic or for country only thing required is passion and character thats how Cuban boxers, Jamaican short runner, Africal long runners are winning gold. We lack National character that only problem not cricket.

Every India knows how many medals India will win, thanks to Kalmadi, Gill and Dasmunshi who are there for decades.

Wait and watch Sir. Let the hardworking Indians who fought so hard to qualify for Olympics partcipate and try their best. Dont discourage people. If you cant encourage..please dont discourage atleast.

You know what is OLYMPICS SPIRIT ..
"Participation is important not winning".

Akhilesh ...do you know how difficult it is to even qualify for Olympics...Its not easy as you think. If it were..then you and me and all of us who talk so much on rediff blogs also will be in Olympics. So lets clap and bow for our great INDIAN qualifiers. They have really struggled and worked so hard to qualify. Let them participate and let us ENCOURAGE them. Athens we got a Silver (thats a silver lining). That means we are improving . Past years we used to get only bronze (except for the 8 Golden years of Indian hockey). So things are looking bright (except hockey this time). Lets WAIT and PRAY and HOPE our team does well and I am sure if we all support these guys just like we support our cricketers they will do well this year and do wonders at Olympics in years to come.

You seem a very balanced guy. At peace with the world inspite of your past problems. That itself is great. Wish you the very best. Only the best will come your way for sure.
