India's Victory Against England
by Anand YNI on Dec 18, 2008 09:06 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Everyone, each & every media is gloating over the victory of India by praising Tendulkar as if he was the sole person who was responsible for the victory. Remember, if Sehwag had not set the pace by his blitzkrieg & if Yuvaraj had continued hitting boundaries or sixers, Tendulkar would not have been able to score the 41st century. After all Yuvaraj was also in his eighties & he could have easily scored a century. I'm not underestimating the ability of Tendulkar but the fact remains that he was ably assisted by others by their inspiration (Sehwag) and sacrifice (Yuvi).

sachin was ably supported because he has that class to stay on the wicket, where people can support him once in a blue moon.where was yuvraj in the first inning.these idiota dont even understand what a player sachin is.they just cant do anything in their life, but can sit and critisize the legends.

Sachin is a great & classic player. He can still play very aggressively like Sehwag & Yuvraaj but he is playing a different role. Mind you yuvi & sehwag play aggressive cricket becoz they know Sachin Is There!

Is Sachin responsible for the praise he gets from people, newspaper or media. Does he pay them to talk about him and say good things about him. The answer is no, then why blame him.

Tendulkar is often blamed more than the other players for "not winning matches for India". There are other batsmen who may have failed but Tendulkar has to bear the brunt of criticism. If he has to share bulk of the blame when India don't win, he also deserves the lion share of praise if he is instrumental in India winning.

Yes right it was purely team effort, and our media and we too always try to make our cricketers more bigger than cricket just due to one of the good wins under their belt....and also dont forget its a sub-continent wickets where ball is not swinging and no movement at all so batsmen can play without any problem specially indians who are playing continiously on flat indian pitches so just wait and watch ....

Mr Venkat & Anand,

its not like that only sachin is praised...remember dat MOM award was given to Sehwag.......nd u know 387 is nt an easy target to achieve even after getting a blistering start frm sehwag......To win this kind of match we needed 1 person who stand there till the end nd not let the english bowlers to dominate them and that role was perfectly done by Sachin........Eve Peterson told in an interview that Sehwag swung the match but it was Sachin who took the match away frm them....

Yes... england team is bazigar.... they might have lost the game (1st test..) but they have won the hearts of many indians.. by playing even in the times where other teams would have bagged out... I am sure australia would have never played if the same conditions prevalled that time...

India has achieved a remarkable vistory in Chennai. But it is foolhardy to gloat over the victory. One more Test still to go. Better to wait till the last ball in the last Test is bowled. Remember, one day you may be the dog, but on another day you may end up being the lamp post!

England are a far more interesting team than Australia. The Chennai test could hv gone either way and England did great job. Great display of batting & bowling. England also deserve the love and respect of all Indians for just being here and playing some excellent cricket.

England are Tourist, not rivals
by S Shrikanth on Dec 17, 2008 11:16 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

England would like to take it easy, have good sight seeing near Chandigarh. They know that they do not have capability to stand up to Team India. So, have a good time pass in beautiful PCA stadium and return with the bags full of Cash and Gift given by BCCI as part of the deal for their appearance in 2 test matches.

Good Bye England Team, Have fun.

Mr S. Srikanth;
Your remarks are in extreme poor taste and insult a team/country who could have cancelled the tour and nothing could ahve been done. The country England; the ECB ; the players- all came against the norm just to defeat terrorism and not allow terror to win. Such poor remarks show how scant respect you have for humanity.

Well, what would help would be if Flintoff stops making faces and starts doing what he does best: perform. Some of the english players behave like they evolved out of a circus. The rest of the players behave like they are still in the circus.

6 months back i heard that ganguly has lost his touch,he came back strongly and retired,The same is the case with dravid, let hom perform and decide on his own.I am sad that persons like jadeja, maninder singh, vengsalkar are commenting, who was never a great player themselves.first look into your performance and then speak.you can raise doubts on the abilities of players ask the current opposition players and ask whom they really fear bowling to the answers are unique it will be tdulkar, dravid, sehwag and laxman.so please allow them to play there game than ur mind game

The past performance of Dravid is never in doubt. I am the greatest fan of Dravid and would be very happy if he comes back to his old self. But Indians have to learn that it is only current performance that should count. Australia have been the best team for years because of this attitude. Their media or fans will never make a hue and cry if a player is dropped because of current perfomance. Any player who has class will fight his way back in to team. Though Dravid may be a better player than Vengsarkar, the current role of Vengarsarkar is give a team where players are in form
