I APPRECIATED THAT HE WON A BRONZE,BUT I DISLIKED THE " JEET KE PEHALE KA JASHN" ALL OVER AND OVER CONFIDENCE WHICH WAS CREATED.

yes he displayed immaturity.

also cuban boxers are all highly educated whereas ours are more from the rural background. that can make a difference too.

No Shame...shabash all four

All three boxers and Sushil Kumar deserve kudos. The point is each of them gave a real run for it and was never never cowed down. Each of the contest were well fought. There is no shame in losing a well fought match..so unlike Indian batsmen who just look stupid facing Mendis. Aim for 10 Golds in London. Go India.

well done indian boxers & Coach
by krishnakanth on Aug 23, 2008 07:39 AM  | Hide replies

Now the ball is in indian boxing management & Govt..
It is their toughresponsibility to give facilities for boxers. All the boxers needs regular international level type of coaching, ever they must go for frequent training including coach also.
I hope most of our young stars/youth will now interest on Boxing, wrestling(india's oldest sport) instead of cricket.

In fact I met the boxing coach at Taipei before the Olympic. They came for a competetion. I asked what is the chance. He told anything is possible. Then I asked what is the difference wih other countries which are in advance. He told they have system we don't have. Who is responsible for this? We are electing these people for more than 60 years. Strip them off, I say.

Well Done Vijender
by Shyama Sreenath on Aug 23, 2008 07:32 AM

You have done country proud and no need to feel you have let us down. You are the first boxer to get a medal for us and fought well against a better opponent. You are far better than money mongering cricketers.

You need not to be sorry
by Sandip Dhara on Aug 23, 2008 07:14 AM

We should feel sorry not to provide you the rich tradition of Cuban boxing. What you have done is amazing!! Being in India, it is no joke to get an Olympic medal. But we will be happy if you become happy to get a Gold for us. It will be even great if your garndson do it for us. We need tradition for anything to achieve and wwe need to develop it over years. Hope our thieves and great thieves will allow us to do so.

Sports
by SRIKUMAR k on Aug 23, 2008 07:00 AM

The basic problem is the society. We do not encourage our children and students to go after the careers they enjoy. It is a fact of life that they only succeed who also enjoy what they are doing. Parents and teachers, if a child enjoys sports let him go for it. Then all medals will come automatically.
