Congratulations Abhinav! We are doing poorly in sports other than cricket. Our sports minister should be only sportsman but we always had the pot bellllly old stock for this.
We r really proud of u Abhinav...My hearty thanks to u abhinav. There is no words to explain the moments yesterday u have given to our BHARATH ...Thank u abhinav Thank u....
It is great that Abhinav has given us the first individual gold in the history of Olympics and any gold after 28 yrs. Earlier we hv got gold in hockey for 8 times.
Here it is to b understood that he has got gold only due to his and his father's determination and not due to any sports authorities or govt efforts. His father had arranged air-conditioned laboratory for Abhinav, German coaches, training in Germany. WE SHOULD INTROSPECT THAT HAD ABHINAV BEEN FROM A POOR FAMILY, HE WOULD NOT HV GOT ANY MEDAL, bcz in India only cricketers get crores of rupees in advertisement, selling themselves to clubs and match fees. They get all the facilities. Players from other games r ill treated and they do not get any training or proper infrastructure for development.
PROBABLY, IT WILL B BETTER TO BAN CRICKET FOR SAY 15 YRS OR SO, so that other games come into limelight, get developed and get all the required attention and facilities. USA had long banned cricket for this reason only.
Abhinav Bindra should deserves 10 time more than any cricket player, he may b Sachin, Dhoni or whatever. Bcz winning in Olymipcs is much more difficult that winning against a few cricket playing countries of former British colonies.

Aisa nehi bolna yaar. Cricket is a great time pass.Haro jeeto time to pass hota hai.Shooting kisko samajhme ata hai.Gold/silver lane ke liye thik hai olympics se.
Welldone Abhinav Today you have made North India very proud.... ur result has overshadowed the poor batting and bowling of indian team maybe they can learn something from u

What "North India" u silly fool...he has made our whole country proud... We are proud of you brother(Abhinav)
Abhinav Bindra has surely done us Indians proud. But this should not be the end of it. Sports Authority of India (SAI) should initiate and take some prudent steps to build up on the present glory for the times to come. Genetically Americans, Europeans and their cousins (like Australians) are physically at an advantage (I am not telling superior). They have better infrastructure and funds. Chinese / Japanese etc. are also fall in the same line. Therefore we in India can concentrate more on events where sheer Physical strength or sophisticated infrastructure does not become a handicap. For example, Tennis is a costly game for an average Indian. Only the rich play in India, & the rich are not generally sportmen minded. We do not have many swimming pools in India, but we can spot talents from those many living near lakes, rivers, seas. Shooting, archery, indoor games (TT, B/minton, fencing etc.), & some short atheletics like all jumps can be encouraged from District levels. I hope marathon kid "Buddhia Singh" will be taken care (adopted) by some organisation for our future hopes. He has proved that he has the "genes" & is precious. Now we have to prove that we have the intention and the guts. Our MP's in parliament can lend crores of ruppes for short term favour, they can very well spend part of that amount in respective constituencies for sports development in true sense. Social security (jobs)is also a major issue for our sportsmen that has to be addressed.
