Another good time for media
by Aotearoan Blue on Apr 22, 2008 07:14 AM  | Hide replies

Just another good time for media. Apart from that it solves nothing. It's not that people don't know how much corruption goes on in India in daily life. Though it is shameful to happen to the country's national game, there are more critical aspects of life which are corrupt from top to bottom; and that's nothing new to all of Indians. Everyone knows that "money plus power" is DEFINITELY above any law in this country. This goes on and on and on. The channel which did the sting operation itself cannot be clean, so what's the point they are trying to prove? It can only help when culprits caught red-handed should be sent to jail the same day of the clips are aired on television, for say, 12 years, and no court case should be allowed to run; that's it. That will be a day.

Sting operation Stinks
by Shreyash Shukla on Apr 22, 2008 05:53 AM  | Hide replies

There is no point in doing sting operations on this small time corrupt people. Do a sting operation on Sonia Gandhi and let us know how much property she has in Italy. A sting operation on Mayawati, Lalu. Dont make your bread and butter on small people rediff.

No use of sting operations on big politicians. What happened to the sting operations conducted on powerful NDA politicians by Tehelka? The irony is that we are still electing culprits whether from NDA or UPA. Probably before blaming the media or anyone else we should question ourselves.

Agreed!!! We vote for people who are exposed for corruption, rape, massacare etc. We should feel ashamed when these "Netas", whose name figures in the FIR on charges ranging from robbery to rape, sits inside the holy parliament. Ain't we better to lead this country than those uneducated and corrupted politicians?

by Muqtadir on Apr 22, 2008 04:09 AM

They should have done this sting operation on KPS GIll, he is ruing hockey, he thinks Hockey is a dowry from his wife's home.

Revolution has died in this country, nobody protested when we failed to qualify for Olympics. Shameless KPS gill still claims he would glorify hockey and then move out. This means till his death he would continue.

Corruption is naked and shameless with no check
by IndiaForce India on Apr 22, 2008 01:45 AM  | Hide replies

The Indian bureaucracy is now acting nakedly and openly fearing none as right from top to bottom they are rotten and corrupt emboldened by no action and polticians'connivance.people will have to charge of law and order.
Corruption is biggest drain of social and economic energy of any society. It reduces effiency, creates inequity, reduces quality, causes inflation and burns esteem of honest and simple citizens. It is a cancer and should be dealt like one.Time to send some officers to gallows or shoot them. Some changes are urgently required:
1.Co prosection of spouse as abettor of crime
2.Life imprisonment with time frame.
3.No permission needed right upto top as corruption is not normal duty.
4.Confiscation of entire property of accused to national exchequer
5.Launch a website where citizens can post name department and location of official and details of bribe extracted from him or her and the delays in work.
6.Make action and reply mandatory on citizens complaints against any officer right upto CM level(a public servant only)
7. A state level body be constituted to hear complaints against State/central civil services and equivalent officers as they are main cause of rampant corruption and mismanagement in the country.
8.Remove cabins below IG/State secretary/MD level guys. They should sit in open cabins.
9. Set up checklist for every sanction/approval process and fix time limits for each.
10. Start jail term & 10,000 fine for delay/refusal under RTI Act.

most of us feel suffocated when we hear about these kind of news because we have no voice to vent our feelings .atleast we all want something done about this injustice .till the time we do not come out and openly and demand explanations why heavy punishment is not given to the corrupt and examples set by these punishments that in future any person with power indulging in corrupt practice will think 10 times before doing anything like this.we all should form a forum and demand explanations and through the press expose the delibrate delay to cover up these issues .most of the people who have power and position in this country are using it only for there own interest to make wealth.we are a nation comporising of people who are well aware of there rights atleast in the towns and cities and we cant let a few thousands of corrupt persons to to play with a populations in crores.

The number of corrupt persons is not in thousands or lakhs even but crores. It has become a way of life. As long as there is "black" money in the nation it is difficult to do away with corruption.

YOU HAVE GIVEN WELL THOUGHT SUGGESTIONS.

However most of these suggestions can be implemented by the bureaucracy only.

What we need are suggestions and actions which can be used by private individuals and perhaps organizations.

your website idea is excellent and can be developed further. the website can include names, emails, tel numbers, and addresses of:- NGO's, media all over country, govt officers(to whom complaints can be sent reg their juniors). The website can also contain info for ordinary people on how to tackle various small corruption problems, and ordinary citizens can use the addresses or tel or email addresses of various officers or politicians to register their protest. So that the politician / officers know how many people are protesting against them. May be their own kids will shame them.
may be many good officers will write about their colleagues.
may be many people will also write about good officers thus encouraging them.

let us run with only this idea....

Your suggestions are quite good! It is time indeed that something was done. Just watching the harassment of a common person on TV on "Office Office" and laughing it all away will not do.

this gill should be ashamed of himself.

he is old, not long left to live, why does not he give up his idiocy, stubborness and arrogance and try to become a decent human being for a few years before he dies.

why he is sticking to gaddi.

shame on him and his ilk.

May such people rot in hell.

Let us find his address and tel numbers and those of his relatives and tell them what we think..
