Do you know how Punjabis introduce themselves in Canada to non-Indians? A white friend of mine asked me if Punjab was a separate country!!! Can you believe it? Another Chinese friend of mine asked me if light skinned Indians were royal descendants. Someone told her that the lighter an Indian was, more chances he/she was a royal descendant. Can you believe it?

In the west there is either South India or North India!!!!!!!!!!! Lets face it, unfortunately the 2 regions were never meant to be united. I have seen this happening here. Although luckily for me I can mix with either groups because of my characteristics, its not the same for the others. India was never meant to be. :(

What about east and west india? They can also say the same. The greatest strength of India is its diversity. There is little scope for improvement in singularity. It was proved by formation of European union where member countries differ more than that in case of Indian states.

I am tired of this north/south/east/west Indian stuff. Will we take another 60 yrs to realize our unity?

We are actually a union of different kingdoms if you think about it. We should have been left alone, as it is, like China, Korea and Japan are right now. I say this with a very heavy heart.

YOU are the one in need of a history lesson. You are talking to the son of a history teacher and someone, whose best friend is Chinese!!!China has no religion. The main Chinese empire was formed around the Shang dynasty. China didnt have different emperors ruling different parts of the country. There were sub-rulersof the main emperor who took care of the different parts of the country.

The Korean language, culture and the Japanese language and culture comes from the Chinese. Do you know that a Chinese person can read the Japanese script? The Korean language was formed from Chinese characters. They then mordernized the the Korean language to make it seem like English alphabets. Japan was formed by migrants of China and Korea.

We were doing very well before we were brought together. People were happy and everyone had a good life under a single King who spoke the same language. I still say India should be one from ym heart but I maintain that we would have been better off as separate countries and brought together as a union like you mentioned.

The way you are saying China, Japan and Korea are different is like saying Karnataka , Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Kerala are diferent. Funny!!! The whole of south India was ruled by the Cholas, cheras and the pandyas. Today does anyone talk about that? It's like saying evolution made humans out of monkeys :)

Rohan u proved that I was right. You are a sick man. You said "You are talking to the son of a history teacher and someone, whose best friend is Chinese". Your father is history teacher, but what about u? Your father's wishdom does not mean that you are wise. In fact you are a crap fellow who did not have the ability to prove himself, hence hides behind the shades of his father or may be the ancestors. First prove urself and be urself then you can be belong to a state or a country.
You will develop when you stop crying about how great your ancestors were and realize that greatness lies inside oneself. Finally loosers like you can not belong to any state or country. Because when they get their independent region they will start talking about their village and so on. You are a cancer which affects society slowly and eats away its grateness. It is unfortunate for the state or country where people like you are born. You are a burden to the society, finally to the mankind.

You badly need a lesson of history. China was many states with different languages and culture and was suseptible to mongols' incessant attack in past. Chinese emporer united all provinces and made great wall of china. China is so powerful because of unity. Japan is multiple islands, not a single country and unity is their strength. Korea was result of cold war. See the state of north korea who are victim of narrow minded leaders (like u). Russia became weak after it was divided. Finally did china, korea and Japan share same history and civilisation like India?

How many examples you need to see the truth? People think that if they are left alone, they'll be better off. Had it been so there would hv been no outsourcing & USA would not hv been so powerful. Isolation can only result a pakistan, north Korea or Iran. You will realize this when you give up your parochial view & sick attitude.

I have absorbed whatever I could form him and moved on. BTW, my mother is the history teacher not my father. Your culture shows in your lnaguage and retort. You cant ever carry a decent conversation for long. Illiterates will always be foolish!!! I have great respect for Bengal but you are trying your best to tarnish the image.

What inferiority complex you a$$hole? Give me a list of achievements from the north of India. Its because of the south that India is what it is today!!! We give the traditional touch to India. Eating meat and spitting paan is not culture. Inferiority complex, my foot. Asoka the emperor couldnt touch any of the Pandyan, Chola, Chera kingdoms at the height of his rule. Did you know that? It was a South Indian empire, the Vijayanagara empire that eventually the downfall of the muslim occupation in India. Without us, we would all have been labelled as terrorists the world over along with cutting of skin from our body parts to please allah in present day. The fact that today everyone in India can proudly joke that yeah most Indians are IT professionals is becaue of the south. Do you know where Aryabhatta came from? Without him, we wouldnt be having this conversation. Do you know who Parasurama is? Read up some history and you will know the significance of the south.

The reason I mentioned Parasurama is that the moment some stupid foolish atheist(non-believer in God) like that tamil nadu CM talks nonsense about Ram and existence, the whole of North seem to come down on the south. Why????? In my family, we have been worshipping Krishna for generations. Krishna is our family deity. And Who is Krishna??? Another avatar of Rama.

Do you know that the Cholas and the pandyas are mentioned in the Mahabharata??? Read up and get wise. Dont be a fool all your life. Be proud of what India for all its acheivements. I knew that I would get a reaction from the north once I brought the south Indian factor in to the equation.

You will yearn for an Indian, no matter which state he/she is from when you got outside India!Rememer this when you are outside India.

by Slasher on Oct 06, 2007 05:34 AM  | Hide replies

Post-Independence, if there are a few people in India that are worthy of a mention in the international arena excelling in their own fields with highest accolades they are,

(1) Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
(2) Chandrasekhar, S.
(3) Sir. C.V. Raman
(4) Rabindranath Tagore
(5) Amartya Sen
(6) Viswanathan Anand

There are others, but not as great! The progeny could try and emulate them, but they cannot excel. These six are bigger than everyone else is and will remain eternally so.

You mean to start a sperm bank with Vishy as the main contributor?

Your list is incomplete, there are 1000s of unheralded Indians who we dont know about due media dis interest.

Imagine, the people who work in media, decide what we know or dont, how stupid we are.

The media people are normally the flashy type, most start their careers with a BA and later have MBAs maybe.

Media doesn;t have smart people, except the flashy type, and the result can be seen.

Look at rediff, what do they cover, and who covers its.The scribes are people with a mass communication degree, mostof them are young with no wisdom. And yet millions of us, let our minds be moulded by these retards.
