congratulations to our hockey team,
now we are getting benefits of PHL professional league, players like sardara , roshan monz, bharat were all spotted in professional league and promoted to indian team. we just hope tat this bunch of youngsters are groomed well. they need more exposure gainst european and australia teams. they played only one game against australia and they lost.IHF should hold a tournament and bring some european teams to play in india and please look beyond delhi and bhennai to organise matches. international matches should also be organised in places like bombay, rourkela, imphal, jalandhar, bangalore from where so many players come.there is no point in organising all the matches only in madras or delhi.
CRICKET well that game sucks. 8-9 countries play that game and it has turned into a TV show, tv rights and thousands of advertisements and endorsements before, between and after every over, one day will come when every bowl bowled by a bowler will be sonsored by companies and every shot played by the batsman will be spnsored and after every ball, there will be an advertisements . so a 20-20 atch will be completed in 5 days becoz of tv advertisements.

First I would request all of u not be personal & abusive on this platform..Please its really sad to see extremely bad language used by guys here..

This is certainly moment of pride for Indian Hockey that such an experienced team have won bronze so we all need to appreciate it with whole heart & stand with them..Atleast they fought & did some appreciable work..

So hats off & kudos to this young team which can prove to be hockey power also if they are nurtured with proper monetary support.
All thr best & do well Guys!!!!our wishes are there with u..we all need to acknowledge good efforts be it cricket, hockey or any other game & also we need to be vocal against media for this biased behaviour with Hockey

Cheers

We are proud of OUR TEAM INDIA. You are the CHAMPIONS. Very GOOD performance. I was keeping track by radio commentary.

It is high time a tv channel starts showing hockey match.

I (and many others like me) am prepared to subscribe the pay channel. I hope Some TV channel reads it. There is huge potential for hockey matches. All we need is right promotion.

Once again excellent performance by Indian Hockey TEam.

HOCKEY SHOULD NOT BE NEGLECTED
by ajay patil on May 13, 2007 11:57 PM  | Hide replies

Hockey is our national game and our govt is not importance to them at all.Govt should take the responsibility of bringing up other sports in India which they wont...in another 100 years... or so..Hockey and other sports should be given sponsorships and support from us.

The problem with hockey is that very few people watch this sports. Actually media should create some hype around hockey. For eg the india pakistan hockey match which gained importance because of the media hype was seen by many.

Congatulations ...... and best wishes

Our hockey team has won 1-0 to Asian champs S. Korea is really very encouraging. The Govt. should now re consider its decision to degrade hockey players level and let it be in grade A game's list. Public should also give more attention to this fabulas game (not only cricket).

hockey vs cricket
by Adi Adi on May 13, 2007 10:38 PM  | Hide replies

the indian cricketers dont even look like players. fitness , attitude.....wt all u require as a player is lost in the cricketers. Oh ya sure...they can make hep hairstyles to model for diff. brands but yah...dun talk abt being a good player....health..fitness and all. They r all sick. Atleast, hockey players work hard on fitness and they do look like players. Performance depends a lot of infrastructure we provide them to compete. With the kind of effort we put in for hockey, they are doing extremely good.

Great news, at least we have a podium finish--- even if it is a bronze medal. Our hockey guys are fit, agile, with good stamina and with good skills. As a person who has played both games in his younger days I can definitely say that 70 minutes of hockey drains you out 10 times more than a day in the cricket field. What the body demands from a hockey/tennis player is much much more than a cricketer. Our cricketers are in no way a fraction in fitness as compared to our hockey players. Just put Prabhjot, Tirkey, Dhoni, Tendulkar, Dravid, Sehwag, Dada, Kumble in a training camp for a day--- surely our cricketers would be catching the evening flight home citing family reasons. Pity our hockey guys are paid a pittance of what our unfit cricketers get--- man at least give them some incentives so that atleast the nation recognises our heroes. Hope they carry on the good work and bring laurels and medals for the country.
* Our hockey lads are at least 90% in fitness levels as compared to Aus, Dutch, Spain, Korea, England etc. No point in criticising them Undertaker--- give them the facilities at par with the advances nations, and then see the results or atleast give them air tickets for attending coaching camps instead of 2nd class rail pass. Remember we are not a sporting nation like Australia, NZL, USA, France, Russia, etc
