Sania must have a foreign coach
by bharat on Feb 17, 2007 08:53 AM  | Hide replies

I strongly believe that Sania should hire a foreign coach who has the experience of coaching players at the highest level. I am sure Sania has the potential to be among the top 10 or 15 players of the world. Without proper and systematic coaching from a specialised coach, I am afraid that Sania will finish her career as the best tennis player from India who, alas, could not make that much of an impact at the international level. It seems that Sania is fairly satisfied with what she has achieved and that is disappointing.

***If someone had troubled me in my returns, then she must be serving exceptionally well - Sania Mirza*** not necessarily true. The other possibility may be ***If someone had troubled yourself in your returns, then you may not be good enough for her*** Try to take it like this then only we can improve ourself.

ANIRUDHA U NEED TREATMENT
by mohan rapheal on Feb 17, 2007 08:46 AM  | Hide replies

i think guys like anirudha are big loosers in life and so remove their frustrations on others.I am sure he himself must be a fat balding hopeless case for his family :-)

Tennis is a game where any person on his day can win.rankings count for nothing..sania admited she gave her everything but admitted to the media that the russian totally outplayed her.It needs guts to make such statements.

Anirudha ..please tell me when was the last time an indian was ranked amongst the top 50...u lazy guy ..u will have to scratch deep!

In Kabaddi, the Indian team is ranked No.1 .. do you give Padmashrees to all of them?

The padmashree was given to her for her shamelessness in admitting defeat? Thats not how you get ATP points - you have to win!

i cannot understand one thing... how can you blame her for receiving padmshree... you should blame the jury...its an individual game and she knows well what is best for her career... stop acting as if you are paying her bills...

by sashikumar Ganesan on Feb 17, 2007 08:44 AM

***May be God didn't want me to win today - Sania Mirza*** Don't you have faith on your abilities? Try to improve your game and rectify your mistakes rather than blaming the god. Take the example of Rahul Dravid, when he was OUT for an unexpected low bounce ball in the last test match in west Indies, he told that he could have played that ball better rather than blaming the pitch.

Predatory Fungus.......
by Strangeworld on Feb 17, 2007 07:11 AM  | Hide replies

...yes, thats the new nomenclature for a lot of people. this is the kind that waits for someone to grow or achieve anything they cannot even remotely think of doing themselves. then they pounce upon this person and feed upon their laurels and achievements by means of destructive criticism. they themselves do nothing spectacular. why? because they cant.
but they need people who try and achieve something around them, so it can be a source for their feeling self important.(do they know where sania's game lacks? do they know technically how better she can play? naaah. but thats ok, they do know a lot about thighs and breasts and thats all they talk about. please pardon their limited understanding and thinking capacities)

do we have any good disinfectants around here?

Good comments but wrong logic.
By your token, only Sania's opponents should comment on her since they have "achieved" the same things that Sania has. In other words, except for a handful of people in India nobody should criticize her. Your are okay with these "predatory fungus" types saying good things and going gaga over these "successful" types, but not if they say bad things. Millions of people watch cricket and comment on the players. How many of them have played cricket at that level or even with a leather ball? Then should they be banned from commenting or criticizing? Doesn't work my friend. In this world the celebrities need to take the muck with the meat. Using a disinfectant and "clearing" folks that you don't like is what the Nazis did. I hope you are not even remotely suggesting that.

lastly, i would question your logic mad dixit. cricket is not an analogy to tennis. cricket is a team sport. players go thru a national selection process. they are in that way 'accountable' to you and me about their performance. sania is not. tennis is an individual sport. sania didnt go through any national selection process to participate in tournaments. she plays for herself and is accountable to herself here..and of course to her sponsors..but thats their business, not the general publics!

you know what, you may be right about the muck and the meat part. hopefully sania and whoever is in the spotlight knows by now how to deal with the muck. well maybe they dont care anymore.. and know its dangerous to take this kind of adulation on face value..one day u are up there, the next u are not..i remember these kinds of things being said even when sania was doing well at the dubai open long back..about how she was too arrogant and things like that..

Let me explain what I meant. Im not ok with the sania mania. I too think the media is going way over the top for a player of her calibre. But I am talking about constructive criticism here buddy. I agree with a lot of people when they say shes not up to the mark, i mean thats pretty obvious isnt it? But, we can certainly stop commenting about her anatomy, cant we?
My friend met loads of people who had come to the match yesterday 'to look at sania'. They may not even follow tennis. Thats what the celebrity status does i guess. I do have a problem with loose and disgusting comments expressed by these kinds of people!
I am not remotely suggesting, as you rightly pointed out, that people shd be made to shut up. But we can certainly expect that they rise above being plain cheap!

I feel quite fustrated that Sania did not perform well. We can make lots of excuses to for not being able to play well (my left shoe heel was an inch shot...;) ). But I'm glad she did not say that, rather "It is disappointing. I gave all that I had." So she has realized her weakness, so improve on it :)

Better luck next time!!

ask sania to shut her big mouth "she wants to be in the top 10 by the end of the year"...bullshittt...she looses to a 143rd rank player...i guess she should retire and become a model...it would be a better profession for her...the only thing she needs to do is eat less and reduce her weight!!!

I agree with Anirudha... The Indian media had given an unnecessary hype for Sania.... Notice the headlines from now "Sania wins doubles match" - Does this mean she alone won the match by playing on either side of the separation on one side of the court while the other stood just watching? And what is the basis on which she was awarded Padmashri while Koneru Humpy, the Youngest Women's GM was not? Just because she is beautiful I suppose....

You Sania-Fobia guys know the name of Mary Kohm from Manipur. She is three time world women's boxing champion. Is her and Humpy's achievements are less than Sania. Of course Sania achieved some thing which no other woman tennis player achieved in India. She is being too-much hyped by media un-necessarily. The worst thing is the stupid Andhra govt giving 20 lakhs to Sania and 2 lakhs to other athletes. Does she need 20 lakhs from the govt..?

dear ms saha,
its a free country, so i am expressing my opinion about your type of people.
i agree the media is hyping her way beyond necessary. but why is that irking you so badly? did u bet some money on her?
well sania only lost a match and atleast shes done something in life. what would u do if there was no sania at all?
now let me use your kind of thinking on you. as another indian, it shames me that people like you yell and scream on public forums. it shames me that you are so crabby. where did you get your education ms. saha? or did you get one at all? (dont yell at me, im still using your kind of thinking).
im sad sania lost a match. im sad she is not able to break into the top ten. i agree that many facets of her game need to be developed.
but your kind ms saha, havent lost anything..the point is you dont even have basic decency, positive expression. compared to sania, who atleast gives us some reason to hope india may make it into the tennis scene, YOU are the bad sample for an indian ms saha..bcos you represent the downside of this country.
And i consider it below my dignity to borrow your phrase and tell you to piss off if you dont like what i said :)

A fitting reply to a born loser!! Let us not forget that Sania is India's pride. We should rather pray for her success in the coming years than crib over her failures. Don't forget every asian country looks up to her for inspiration while you bark incessantly Mr.Anirudha Saha. And by the way, media as any industry, thrives on profits which are reflected by TRPs. The media is dependent on stars like Sania. She never went running to them , you dumb ass!!
