we are seeing only players sharing punches and off court rifts and differences .. that too doubles players established ... we only have to be blamed for raising all the hypes and high expectations ... why blame the players ... men or woman players makes no diffrence... IT IS THE PUBLIC - WE -WE only who contribute to this scenario...
if sania belonged to any other country she wouldn't even see her name in the last page of any paper. only in India u will see overhype ppl who have acheived nothing.

you need to appreciate people when they achieve something specially in a country like India. This is the reason we dont make any progress in any other sport other than cricket which unnecessary get so much fame and name. I am sure if you reach to some quarter final (if possible for you)...you will also like to see your name on front page...believe me it makes lot of impact on society, kids grow up and learn seesing this kind of achievements

let us not blame individuals ./. let us meditate and reflect on the reality.. may be tennis associations can arrange Pranayama and Meditation Courses to the Spectators who pay to watch .....

we just cannot blame our players .. any sport.. it is the public who raise them to the highest mountain peaks and when they are not able to respond to the tougher demands of the concerned sport in international arena, the same public brings them to the ground ... sympathies go to the players who don Indian colours in world of sport....

I am sure Mr Krishnamoorthy must have been thinking about names like Anna Kournikova when he made this comment!

let us not name any country or player.. watch the world stage in sport ... indian tennis is just another glamour sport ... so much goes into the sport in spending and organising, just see the results on show ... dramatics and filmi glamours... and imagine we were upset about Ms Serena Williams not making to Bangalore.. hero-worship does not end anywhere,. hundreds of Serena are in our own midst ..for want of recognition and suitable sponsorships , these local Serena-s are in the shadows of this glamour sport.... we are nothing less to other countries but we MAKE ourselves LESS and LESS . for a land of hundred crores of population, is there only one player ???

Yeah - time Mahesh Bhupathi found someone else for the advertisement contracts. And quick. Part of the land the government gave him in Karnataka (where he runs the 'Nike village') has already been sold by his father at premium rates. And no real player worth anything has been produced... Bye Bye Sania. We can only watch her fade away from the rankings now.

there are many unsung and unrecognised talented players in this country who get ignored and sidelined ... it is high time our corporates start identifying such quality talent and sponsor them onto greater glories ... let us stop this hero-worship and high hypes

Can our government take back the Padmashree from her and give to some other player who really deserve it?
