Statue of UNITY

Even the learned people never think beyond bread and butter. People says waste of money. They do not see the project for earning in multiples. The life of the locals is definitely going to change in a few years. Yes it is a clear cut business plan for the people of that locality. We did not took any thing from other countries to make this statue. IT is a pride for all Indians and a gift to Gujurat by MODIji.

A true tribute to a powerful leader

Sardar Patel's contribution to pre-independence and post-independence is tremendous. It is a true tribute to the yester years leader.

This will also generate revenue towards tourism and develop small businesses in and around the statue location.

Not every expenditure is done for profit, some are done for national pride

We have other countries building the tallest buildings like Burj Khalifa, biggest airports, longest sea bridge, which are all very useful for practical and commercial point of view and here we are still building the tallest statue of a person who died more than 50 years ago??

Yes. Because of his valuable contribution to the country in freedom movement, you have got right to express and write whatever nonsense you want to write.

Countries who don't have a heritage may construct buildings. We a rich heritage lets preserve it.

Todays kids do not know who was Sardar Patel. Congress ensure that we forget all our great leaders, except the Nehru family

What a waste of money
by dipankar nag on Oct 31, 2018 11:37 AM

It's really painful to see such a waste of money (3000 crs.). The statue will not serve any purpose to humankind. On one hand we are cutting budget for education, agriculture health and on the other we are wasting our money for creating such unproductive things. Nearly 12000 farmers committed suicide. The fellowship of the research scholars are being stopped. Recruitment halted. Decrease in all kind of subsidies, huge rise in fuel price and still we are wasting our money to create all these unproductive things to divert our attention from the real issues of our country.

It's a waste ..in a country where still people r dying of hunger..poor health facilities this type of activities is a complete misuse of the public money..As a tax payer it's highly objectionable for me..Nothing against the Great Leader " The Iron Man Of India"..But better they could have built a free of cost health facility for the poor in his name.

India is spending so many rupees to eradicate poverty. Like giving rice at Re.1 per kg. Meals at Re.5. But poor will remain poor. Because they will not go for work because work is also not available.Because they have no control on population. So spending some rupees in such monuments is justified.
