still it is waste of money.... poverty in india, lack of primary school, health infra, polluted water and air problem, adulterated pesticides induced harmful vegetable n fruits, pathetic road in rural areas, scarcity of water in rural area.... instead numerous water preservating dams be built.... anyway.. i have surveyed rural areas and saw their problem, n how they survive each day...economy doesnot mean if u r going to spa, mac d, drinking cold drinks n eating pizza, using loan based royal enfiled bike / i phone...
Gandhiji's grandson says that he is against statue for Patel or Gandhi. Why does he say this now and not when Gandhiji's statues were installed elsewhere in the country and in London? Gandhiji himself was perhaps against statues, if so will all those stick to this wish of Gandhiji also call for finding up of the Congress Party which was Gandhiji's wish? Let Rahul answer this.

IT IS MADE IN CHINA, AND SARDAR PATEL HAD BANNED THE RSS. THIS SHD BE INSCRIBED BELOW THE STATUE

Typical comment by a man lacking knowledge...the whole statue is not made in China ...a few parts only
Many have different opinion about Sardar Patel as reflected in below comments. It is not to compare one above other like Gandiji or Netani. Even many other unknown people served this nation in thier own way. The fact is Patel's contribution to unite this country just after the independence is uncomparable. He brought about 500 princely states of India under Indian union except J&K which Nehru intervened. Perhaps without Patel we couldn't have seen today' geographical map of India. Patel is like Bismark of German. absolutely correct that he was the man of unity & no one else.

PATEL WAS A CONGRESS MAN, NOT RSS MAN, IT IS COMENDABLE THAT A CONGRESS MAN IS BEING HONOURED

By the same count, some of the celebrated honours that JN, IG and Rajiv G received should be withdrawn. They did not deserve any of them ... It will only be just.
Hats off to patel for what he did for the country and to Modi for this tremendous show of respect for the iron man of India. I am sure more has been spent keeping Nehru and Gandhi legacy alive though they were stooges of the British

Also remember to add the amount of money and manpower the Govt. had to spend in Nagaland to resolve the Naga problem; which is a creation of the Churches there.

Abdulla Sayyed, no wonder people like you who has no love for this country will find such a great person like Sardar Patel ugly. No one can change your dirty mindset.

Shah sir, I just said about the statue and the money spent on it, not the person.
To criticize is one of the strengths of democracy and does not mean lost love for the nation.

Pls do speak of the T18 train that was made in 18 months. As also the various other short distance trains of high quality that were added to the Time Table but got vandalized in Mumbai.
We are paying taxes and donating golds and money to temples, masjids, churches and political parties. Do we know the total party funds or total wealth in religious centers? Do we know the total wealth of political leaders in India? It will be trillions and trillions. Religious authorities and political parties and leaders are misusing this money. In India about 78 million people are homeless, over 4 million children are living on the streets, state of hunger is 196 million, 7000 people are dying every day for hunger, 250 million people can’t afford meal twice/day. 60 % children are malnourished, avg. salary of an Indian is 0.28 $/hour, 58% below poverty line, we consider above Rs. 26/day income to be OK, 836 million people are having income below Rs. 20/day, our literacy is 74%, 50 % children are having no education, 600 million people are facing acute drinking water shortage, 76 million people are not having clean water, 27% of total death in India are due to non-treatment. In India, we have 0.6 doctors and 0.9 hospital beds per 1000 people. About 32 million people are jobless. 56% farmers of India have no land. There are about 5 million child labors in India. And we are supporting for building Mandir, Masjid, Church and Statues. (source – Wiki)

His point is simple. such utilisation of moneys is not questioned by people but they voice their displeasure at Patel's statue which costs much much less.

It is the vision of an educated person, how he will understand my above post, specially the last line. From where that 3000 cr. came from? I mean, the money earned by Govt. from our taxes can be better utilized in those drawback basic need. We are supporting and electing leaders at our choice for our betterment and the leaders are spending our money for their vote bank. There is no fault of uneducated people but knowing everything, educated people are supporting.
