If Modiji can glorify Sardar Patel as a Gujrati man why can't you make a taller statue of Subhash Chandra Bose On the bank of holy ganga?

Wait, that's exactly going to happen shortly. Maharastra has already budgeted 5,000 crores for Shivaji statue. Next in line could Karnataka for Dr. RajKumar, TN for AnnaDurrai, WB for Bose, UP for Vajpaee and it goes on &B one thus wasting tax payers money.

Sardar Patel is the greatest. But for his vision and mission of uniting all the 500 odd princely states, India would not be what it is today. We are proud of what Patel did. Nehru spoiled the show in J and K and we are all paying through our nose for this monumental blunder of Nehru.

Why Sardar Patel alone?
by Tuhin Ganguly on Oct 30, 2018 01:05 PM  | Hide replies

Why Modiji choosen Sardar Patel alone for a huge budget of ₹3000 crore? Why not Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, The first prime minister of India? It could have been a fitting reply to British government by Indians. Now it is our natonal politics between BJP and Congress but if it was Netaji that would have been an International politics

Sardar Patel fought British rule staying in the country and gave great contribution to the nation by merging all princely states in the United India. The real contribution of Netaji Bose is known to most of the people as he was out of the country for the most of time. What Bengal has done to honour Netaji all these years ? who has told you that netaji Subhashchandra Bose was first Indian prime minister ?

Modi's vision is very high
by Jayaprakash Balan on Oct 30, 2018 11:16 AM  | Hide replies

Well, though Modi's vision is very high and wants everything high and definitely Patel was a great Indian leader and certainly deserves respect and stature, but wondering isn't Modi too playing pure politics because however great and bit Patel might be, was he a bigger leader than Gujarat's another son Gandhiji. No way ! Though am not a Congressman and though I too have difference of opinion on many aspects of Gandhiji, surely am in awe with Gandhiji and certainly thing there is no bigger leader in the world than Gandhiji, because its not about him getting us freedom but the influence he has not only on Indians but all over the world where he is a revered man and world over people studies his life and get inspired by his non-violence. So, in that sense even if to show the world, India should have only constructed the world's biggest statue of Mahatma Gandhi and nobody else and that would have been a real tourist attraction as well pride for India. Alas every of our great leaders are killed by the political parties by owning them and making it a political thing. Not only that, would not this statue have maintenance expenses, would it be really worth spending huge amount when there are much of people in Gujarat's own state starving. Statue of Unity would have no relevance except a matter of pride for some hardcore Patel's followers and true political non-believers in Patel's philosophy.

Non Violent Son of gujrat could not stop divison of our country.
Valiant Son of Gujarat stopped disintegration of the Real Bharat, other Non Violent Son of Gujarat, and Secular Son of Allah's City would have ensured that.

How many Indians know Patel . But all Indians and majority world knows Gandhiji. He is also from Gujarat. World will mock at us for this gesture as we have not given importance to Gandhiji more than Patel and think that we are in fools paradise.

Dear Prakashji,

from Indian perspective I believe all our leaders of history & freedom fighters should get publicity to remain in the minds of people, respected Gandhiji is known to everyone in congress regime... now its time for others.. let them pls... I am not on either side of politics but an Indian. Pls let the time prove, what is true...(purely my thoughts not an opinion).

Why is it that only those are considered FREEDOM FIGHTERS who opposed (not even fought) the English Regime?
Should the status not be accorded to those also who fought the invaders aince 1126?

by prasad d on Oct 30, 2018 11:04 AM

Sardar has been offered a due respect by BJP in Gujarat and same is started for Mr. Bose and Mr. Modi will come up with something to pay respect. UNFORTUNATELY IN MAHARSHTRA SHIVSENA NCP AND OTHER PARTIES DOING A LOT OF POLITICS AND NOT BUILDING ANY MONUMENT FOR SHIVAJI MAHARAJ AND JUST WASTING YEARS AND DECADED ONLY POLITICIZING. THESE PARTIES LIKE SS, MNS MNS INC INCLUDING BJP SOMEHOW BROUGHT MAHARASHTRA TO BACKWARDS BY 10-15 YEARS AND WE ASHAMED FOR THIS GESTURES OF ALL FOR THEIR OWN BENEFITS..

Sardar Patel has been given due respect by the current BJP Govt, which his Own Party Congress did not do . Because congress party means only on Family full of non original Gandhis !! Looks like Redif f website is not so happy with this Statue of unity as its clear from the last para of this article.
