I think its time judiciary practices on judicial aspects and not on hurting religion fro the sake of some virtual and so called intellectuals. If at all judiciary is so very keen on removing gender inequity, let it do on all places of worship(as pointed in article), and even make 60 years as eligible age for senior citizens and not 58 for one gender, or they may make the retirement age accordingly. It's is also puzzling to note some judges coming out in public(media) raise their voices.
Leave religion and its practices to themselves as long as these are not harming others.

They have already done so !

But they know very well that there is very little chance the supreme court will reverse its verdict !

And so they want the Left front govt in Kerala to add its own review petition (to the list of the 19 petitions already filed) as they do not have any other talking point in the state to divert attention from the disaster that the BJP rule at the centre has become !

BJP and RSS spokespersons, while
by piri on Oct 28, 2018 05:20 PM | Hide replies

laboring hard to present themselves as exclusive custodians of hynduism and hyndu legacies, unfailingly betray the fact that they are actually ignorant about hyndu texts, customs, history and philosophies !

They also betray the fact that they are just out fishing (using the BJPs huge black money hoard) for votes by organizing riots and abusive crowds of criminals dressed up as Ayappa devotees on Sabarimala !

What do these men and women who come on as BJP and RSS spokespersons on TV debates know anything about scriptures or tantric texts or the Dharma sasthras or the history and sanctity of temple customs !

If challenged by persons who know these subjects in some detail (like Swami Sandeepananda Giri or Advocate and Vedic scholar Harish Vasudevan), the BJP and RSS men (as well as those of the Congress) simply try to divert the topic of discussion by repeatedly interrupting them or resort to shrill repetitions of already made statements !! They appear mortally fearful of hearing or letting anyone hear what Swami Sandeepananda Giri or Vasudevan have to say !!

This has been repeatedly proved over the past few days in debate after debate after debate on Malayalam TV channels !

Frustration at not being able to quote even a single extract from any Tantric text or from the recorded history of Sabarimala temple that gives Tantric legitimacy to this 27 year *tradition* of barring women of child bearing age has now led such ignoramuses as Mohan Das and Rahul Eswar to incite an attack on Sandeepananda Giris ashram and set it on fire !!

Unfortunately for these dumb men of the parivar, the attack on the ashram has now become the subject of intense debate among common Keralites and TV channels, sensing where public focus lay, have been dissecting the attack as well as the speeches of incitement by those dumb parivar men !

(as a swxami from the Vishwa Vidya Gurukulam called Amit Shah today on a TV debate), in his limitless foolishness, is apparently unable to understand that hyndu....muxlim....hyndu..... will not fetch many votes in Kerala as it does in the worlds most backward region - North India !

In the past 3 years, there has been a procession of such north Indian fools (Yogi Adityanath, Bhagwat, Amit Shah himself..) to Kerala proclaiming that they will transform Kerala into another bit of North India !!

And everytime, despite spending a lot of its black money (the BJP has been outspending both the Congress and the Left front during the last 3 years even in Panchayat elections in Kerala), the BJP has made precious little progress with its vote share in the state !

In the last election, despite komaaaaali Modi coming on 4 high pitched braying visits straining every nerve in that offensive language (hyndi) (4 visits by a PM for any election in Kerala is a record for the state) and the BJP so obviously spending through the roof with even its sundry leaders flitting about the state in helicopters, the BJP drew only 10.4 % of the total votes !

In the 2004 LS election, when there was no Modi or Amit Shah or huge black money around and LK Advani came on 2 half hearted visits (and thankfully, he spoke only in English then), the BJP received 11.2 % of the total votes !

Now, Amit Shah and Modi, driven to desperation in the North with the unending series of exposures on their record levels of

corruption of the central govt and fearing that the worst might happen (the attention of the masses may fall fully on their corruption and misgovernance), believe they have a handy diversionary issue in the Sabarimala developments !

Despite repeatedly being frustrated in polls in Kerala, they calculate yet again that they might reach at least 25 percent in vote share and hopefully a few LS seats with the single chant of Sabarimala !

Unfortunately for them, their foolishness in trying out the same tactic that works so well in North India - physical intimidaton of inconvenient voices - in Kerala (attacking and burning Swami Sandeepanandagiri Giris ashram) has already put the BJP in defensive mode in public debates in the state !

"IT IS PRACTICE NOT FAITH" :S/SWAMY SR BJP LEAD
by damodaran mohan on Oct 28, 2018 03:18 PM | Hide replies

This was what or words to that effect Subramaniam Swamy, Sr BJP leader & RS MP had to say as I watched on News18 TV during peak of S'bmla fracas:"Not allowing women aged between 5-50 yrs is not FAITH but a 'PRACTICE' and practices have been changing since vedic ages. So, it is wrong to call this practice as ‘faith’ and thus it is the responsibility of LEFT govt. in Kerala to implement SC order. Further, S/Swamy on TV added, Left govt. could seek center's assistance in getting central forces to manage the law and order created in the name of devotees. Around same time scrolls or news breaks on TV appeared stating that center were concerned and seeking the status of situation at Sabarimala while issuing advisory to s/govt. to implement SC orders. Later on it seems they changed the stand after RSS chief came in support of the devotees. Thus it is very clear BJP is sensing opportunity to capture power playing temple politics and creating another Ayodhya like situation in Kerala sending cadres doubling up as devotees to raise passion for votes. Even as Cong is in a bind , the CM , Pinarai V must not waver and must do meticulous planning to ensure implementing SC order instead of filing review petition. Incidentally retd. Judge Sujata Manohar too in her interview to I/Express says ‘faith’ or core religion is not getting affected by change of 'wrong practices' and is in favour of women's entry as per SC's right order.

(contd.) Meanwhile women wanting to visit Ayyappa shrine should observe the 41 day ‘vrat’ etc and enter the shrine after it reopens as it is their birth right under constitution validated by SC order. For ages before 1991 Kerala HC ruling people including families of the Royals controlling the shrine were entering as per reports.
