The supreme court of India is not ready to reach the point of problems of democracy. Showing majority in parliament or Assembly. Counting the heads of elected / united elected mebers is sufficient to form the govt. This can be done by primary school students easily. The main question of Karnatak present problem is . can political parties mingle together to form the government without any consultation of that party voters? JDS voters of karnatak voted to JDS party. it is an implied condition or thought that, they have opposited present congress ruling party. Jds must support to its another opposition party but not to ruled and defeated party by the voters. JDS can keep quite but it has no any right and morality to mingle with ruled and defeared party.i.e Congress. The question of proving majority by more that 50% does not arise. The BJP has got very hearer to majority being a single largest party. Single party administration will be more benfit to the voters without any quarrel between them in sanctioning budget, administration etc. Hence , taking all the things taking intto consideration the supreme court may take decision to form the govt. by majority party negelecting megre shortage of 6-10 seats of assemmblyto form the govt. without any collusion between the political partis. When HDDG was PM, they destabilized BJP which was ruling in Gujarat, and planned the split in BJP and then dismissed the government. The current Governor of Karnataka was cabinet minister in the same Gujarat Government. No one is saint here

Vote % in our first pass the poll system means quite little , for example BJP got 24.5 % in Bihar assembly elections more than anybody else but yet finished a distant second to RJD/JDU , in the much touted recent Goa assembly elections BJP got more vote % than Congress but later won more seats , BJP got 15 % of vote share in Kerala election but has only one seat to show for it.Most glaring example is 1984 general elections when Congress won an astounding 405 number of seats yet it's vote % was only 49 % !!! i can give hundreds of other instances but neither i have the inclination or the time ....

have remarked, the BJP has just given one more strong reason for opposition parties such as the Congress and the JDS to forget their differences and unite for 2019 !
If that happens (as the BJP Chanakya Amit shah has managed with his Chanakyesque moves to unite the otherwise irreconcilable BSP and SP and make them work together smoothly), whatever the NDA can manage to scrape together (and surely it has to be less than the 36 % it got in 2014 when the komaaaali went braying out about the 2Gee and kol eskaaaams) will sure fetch them a great lot less than 322 seats !!
