Whither democracy?
by Bwinde Kang on May 12, 2018 06:07 PM  | Hide replies

25 posts...all sanctimoniously berating the author but not one questioning the logic of having laws that go against the Constitution itself. Who does an innocent persons detained under this law turn to? Incidentally, it is not the present government which enacted these laws.

Laws
by arungopal agarwal on May 12, 2018 05:28 PM

What new laws, nothing, only copy of British system, barring hate spreading laws viz. SC,ST Act, Backward Act, many acts for empowerment of women, etc.,etc.,
Latest are dictatorial acts with tax terror viz. Income Tax, GST etc.,etc.,
No one is bothered for population control, common civil code, reforming political and administrative machinery, besides judicial system. It is running as it was.

Read the article before commenting.

There is absolutely nothing in this article against Modi.

It is against the existence of barbaric laws (enacted much before Modi govt).

So, I suggest that you go somewhere else to justify your troll salary.

Individual civil liberties Vs safety of citizens
by Abhishek Shridhar Mishra on May 12, 2018 03:03 PM

It is incorrect to say that preventive detention is bad in law. There are several instances when preventive detention has saved innocent lives. Moreover such people are history sheeters and regular criminals. Intelligence reports are precursor to such arrests.
Many countries have provisions of preventive arrests.Nothing wrong with the Law. Lives and limbs of the public is more important that individual liberties .The writer is biased and perhaps seek to sensationalize matters
