every woman has 2 or more names...one name before marriage one name after marriage...sometimes even 3rd name if they remarry after divorce or death of husband....
so logically every women should have permission to have 3 passports 3 aadhar cards and 3 pan cards for each name ...otherwise its trampling down on her rights...and it will be injustice done to her...
similarly people dont reamin at the same address all their life...so for each address change there should be new aadhar card passport and PAN...
This issue is blown out of proportion. The officer pointed out discrepancies in name mentioned in certain document then the applicant has to comply.
Need to check Aadhaar card. If marriage is registered under Special Marriage act then there is no need of Nikhanama but the lady presented it where the name mentioned was different. Government should clarify the stand first. There cannot two be separate rules.
There are two points here: 1. Inconsistencies in document pointed by officer 2. Attitude of office when he pointed out the inconsistencies and the words used
If there were inconsistencies in the document, then officer has the right to point them out and couple should have either rectified it and provided right documents.
If the attitude of the office was not appropriate and he actually tried to insult the couple then he should be fired and not just transferred.
I am sure the office should have some video recordings or witnesses, so police should be able to find the truth.
Now if the story is fabricated, i.e. Couple is making up the incident and not actually telling the truth, they should also be punished for giving the religious twist to whole incident.
Let the enquiry be partial and see if truth can be revealed.
Officer is not wrong in his doing. If she has used her name while doing marriage with Muslim name then why she not gave that name for passport making. She should not use Hindu name as she has already converted.
Was transfer a sufficient punishment? Why was e not suspended pending enquiry? Where was he transferred to? to the next p/port office in Lucknow itself? It is really pathetic to see some people almost justifying his action. Have we lost a basic sense of decency?
