Indian Congress only need to be thankful to Nehru, who provided a lucrative corruption options and ruling nation for decades.
Poor Indians paid price for it.

Nothing wrong in giving credit to Nehru. The main objection is "is Nehru along worked for the betterment of the Nation"???
Congress and Nehru sidelined the real heroes of freedom struggle.
Ever biggest sin committed by congress.

Nehru the Architect.

The author is right. Nehru was a visionary and his rule laid down a blue print for the industrial and agricultural development of the nation in a big way for 1950,60 and 70s. Large manufacturing units came up and vast industrial estates were started functioning in most of the towns and cities with hopes and aspirations. Millions of blue/white collared employs had a study income and means to lead a decent life and as a result, cities and towns had pretty good business and making headway for growth. Big dams were built to boost agriculture and thus a grand beginning was put in to practice and large engineering, pharma and research institutes started emerging. Where as China was struggling to balance its social and economic imbalance and industrialization yet to reach its shore. But we Indians are masters in pulling down our own destiny and future, thus, the politicians, bureaucrats and even the industrialist started taking undue advantage of the new found opportunity. As a result the big industries and institutions started loosing its purpose and gave room for further manipulations and emergence of super wealth holders in the country. People, particularly the marginalized lot still hoping for a better tomorrow.

He kept govt within his family and people poor..
by MS Vasan on Jan 26, 2018 07:56 PM  | Hide replies

What is the use of all the rambling praise of Nehru if all his nation building made all political parties family run dynasts...?
What about poverty? Why millions kept poor for 70 years, while a new govt can give within 1 year 300 million poor bank accounts with debit card, free life insurance, etc...?
Did Nehru keep people poor for 70 years thru his repeated bureacratic 5-year planning on Russia model so that dynasts can rule India for ever..?
