Article portrays as if brahmins are against dalits. Most birth-based "brahmins" that I know, including myself, support dalit advancement and equality. And it has been so for at least 20-25 years. In fact, this word "brahminical" itself is nothing but a tool to create caste based division in hindu society by so called secular parties. Except for tiny part of the brahmin society, no one believes in caste based discrimination anymore.
IT IS UNFORTUNATE SOME CROOKS ALWAYS POINTING ON BRAHMINISIM. FIRST LET THEM GET CHANGED FROM THE MIND SET OF CRULEITY/CHEATING ROBBERY/ATTACKING/KILLING ANIMANLS FOR MEAT/ TREATING WOMEN AS ANIMALS AND MORE. THEY NEED NOT TO TEACH LESSON TO BRAHMINS. LET THE DALITH AND MUSLIM FIRST RECTIFY THEIR UNCIVILISED LIFE STYLE AND PUB.LISH ON BRAHMINS. SOME 3RD GRADE TOLD MEANS IT CAN NOT BE APPLICIABLE TO BRQHMINSISM. IT IS IS SYSMBOL WISDOM/TRUTH/CLEANINESS/ NON VIOLENCE AND MANY MORE

Stop this type of articles in Rediff please.Why you fellows are dragging brahmins in to controversial news.In fact they are in minority in number in any state and are not occupying any political outfit.Any party comes to power,are not bothered about them noe are they demanding any reservation unlike other casts,by black mailing.THey are under priveliged and most of them are in poor state of livelihood. PLease let and leave them alone.

Neither Modi nor Rahul nor Lallu or Nitesh are interested in casteless society.
They want to "use" caste, religion, region, gender, etc to further their interests. Period.
What do you mean by "get the Brahmins on your side"? Brahmins are not a monolithic entity that you can get them on your side en masse. And how do you get them on your side? By making electoral alliances? Don't make me laugh!
Brahminical (in general all upper caste to which i also belong) hegemony is a law and order problem. Put people who do not treat "lower caste" people with dignity behind bars. Implement the law and all brahmins (and other upper caste people) in the world will fall in line.
They and upper caste leaders are only soft hearted politicians who have always given poor, needy and deprived chances to grow, whereas dalit own leaders never cared for them, they have snatched their rights by way of not permitting BPL class to grow and have first right on benefits.
