Resurgence?
by palanki narayana on Jan 02, 2018 04:36 PM

In 3000 years of our history thousands of wars were fought and one community or other had a reason to crow over another about a victory. The internecine wars between small Hindu fiefdoms ended with the invasions by foreigners and enslavement of the entire country. Now that we are free people let us not talk of either humiliation or resurgence that is no longer relevant (or helpful) in anyway.

Unnecessary issue

Unnecessary issues are raised again. If any one thinks they are oppressed. They want equality. They don't claim any reservation. Show all as hindus only. don't mention their casts for education and jobs. Then there will be proper equality.

Dalits oppression

Dr Anand Teltumbde is my dear friend and I always respect him as a learned intellectual. I agree with his views that the 1818 war was to maim the Peshwas by British & Mahars were there in the British Army.I also agree Lord Mcaulay was the Colonial Agent and his Agenda was to break India to pieces & make Indians feel low for not knowing English as he knew he cannot digest Indian virtues. That said, I don't agree with Anand that caste oppression is still prevalent largely. Today we are in an emancipated, egalitarian social set up. Isolated incidents of lynching/honour killing etc are of the residual fanatic elements but not to be generalised as continuing offence against Dalits.

The so called

Brahmins, in general, carry around the burden of their belief that they are descended from a different and superior raxce !

Dig deeper into the minds of the average brahmin and one will find the fond belief that he or she is descended from some *superior* race that many among them vaguely and ignorantly associate with the term *Aryan* !!!

On many occasions however, one does not have to dig into their minds or even ask them about it at all. Many among them will go around volunteering such *knowledge* as though others are all very keen to hear what they think about themselves !

But, when they are confronted with questions about their racial features (such as thick lips, wide noses, black pupils, black and wavy hair, wheatish or dark skin, etc that are typical markers of the negrito draxvidian race), they either feign surprise or try to change the topic or sometimes are truly surprised that there are racial distinctions (particularly ignorant ones) !!

Such comedy is particularly frequent in the case of the tamil and telugu brahmins (the Iyers, Iyengars and others). These species often have dark or even very dark skin and thick or very thick lips and are usually indistinguishable from people belonging to other castes in TN and A.P.

If asked why they look so different from the so called brahmins of H.P, Haryana, etc (or for that matter, so different from anyone in those states) if they really think that racial identities are the same as caste identities,

New attempts are being made to devide Hindu society rather than eliminating the differences. People should be alert.

Can Dalits be Raised to Standards of UpperCastes in 25 yrs?

Can Dalits be Raised to Standards of UpperCastes in 25 yrs?
YES. After thorough research I have arrived at the below formula:
First an authoritarian rule or dictatorship should be imposed, who can carry out the following.

1. Impose strict family planning—2-child policy among Dalits.

2. Open English-medium schools in all Dalit colonies. Just to teach English from Class 1 to Class 5 does not cost much or need big infra. This can be easily achieved by reducing the salaries of our useless GovtEmployees by 5%. Or just do not revise the salaries of GovtEmployees for 30 years.

3. From Class 1 to 5 teach mainly English, the same content as a subject in Mother tongue and mathematics-- no history, no science, no nonsense.

4. Make NCC compulsory (with English commands) for them and then train them well in western manners, parallel with Indian manners (of course they should be kept away from bad habits of the West).
5. Dalits should be trained to think that they can achieve, win and grow. Change of mindset makes a big difference. Taking min number of English tests and scoring min should be made compulsory for all Dalits, before they can use their reservation certificates.

Impose two child norm on all, irrespective of caste or religion.
Teach English to all without side-lining the mother tongue. (This is what Kanche Iliah advocates)
Dalit entrepreneurs like Chandra Bhanu Singh are examples of resurgence, employing people of all castes. There is already a Dalit Stock Exchange.
Reservations are a help, but the government cannot create jobs beyond a certain limit. Public sector jobs are dwindling. The help should come from incentives to self employment and enterprise.

By celebrating 1st January as victory day over Peshwas will not help Dalits in getting employment. Educated Dalits keep away themselves from such celebrations. First educate the Dalits. Let them celebrate, no Brahmin will oppose. Dalits will not gain anything by such activities. Dalits should not invite Umar Khalid or Jignesh Mewani on such occasions.
