Valid Points
by Rahul Gaikwad on Feb 12, 2018 04:30 PM  | Hide replies

The article is well written. there could be some facts that all may not agree however one thing is for sure that if RSS alias BJP stays in power for long, they would declare Nathuram Godse as the father of nation and a true patriot over Gandhiji and P Nehru. All know the 'No Role' played by RSS in the freedom fight.

Whatever process took place for selecting people for internal positions of party and accepted within then INC is their internal matter.
Irrespective of differences he might have had with other Congress stalwarts Sardar is a Congress stalwart, there is no need of paint and he died of illness, not killed for having some difference as you imply which makes credibility of your comments questionable, and anyway there nothing to credit BJP for anything in your comments.
How on earth would Modi know what would have happened if Patel was PM? Instead of dwelling in the past and predicting things which didn't happen, hope he will focus on present day needs of our country.

pls dont demean the stature of hindus so much.

RSS has befriended many balanced-thinking Muslims. They are only against killing India's culture.

Yours hatred for Modi & RSS is very biased.

In India you should not talk about our culture and hndus then you will be called as communal. Even after independence people are still living like british era slaves and blindly support one family and support their screwing up of our history just for vote bank politics and apeasement of one comunity.

Some valid points but been economical with the truth
by rajarshi banerjee on Feb 12, 2018 03:17 PM  | Hide replies

The author does have some valid points but he has been highly economical with the truth. He provides versions of both Durga Das & Maulana Azad but conveniently is silent about the actual voting process that took place when finally the prez of the then INC was being selected when Nehru managed to secure just two votes while 17 votes went in favour of Sardar Patel.

Secondly, he paints Sardar as a Congress stalwart. Sure he was the HM under Nehru but he had serious & big time differences with both Gandhi & Nehru especially on the issue of doling out 55crores to Pakistan at that critical juncture. More importantly Sardar had a decade before written several reminders about Tibet & China's designs on Tibet along with other border areas which the then PM did nothing except sitting on. Sure Sardar banned RSS which was subsequently overturned by the courts but as an upright person, whatever difference he would have had with anyone, nothing justified the killing of a human being. So again, here the author chooses to completely side step on this issue & only highlight the convenient portions.

Thirdly, Simla Agreement of 1972, bartered away everything that India had gained militarily during 71 creation of Bangladesh. It was stunning role reversal where Mrs. Gandhi for reasons best known to her handed over all the 93000 POWs on a platter to Gen. Ayub Khan without negotiating anything else except for no third party intervention which we all know how much Pakistan wou

would follow in the future years.

Fourth, the Nizam of Hyderabad & the State of Travancore too did not want to accede to Indian Union as they would lose they humoungous amount of wealth which was amassed by them. What did Sardar do, he threatened them with sending the army in & they had to sign the instrument of accession. Kashmir did not join the Indian Union till 1947 Aug but whether it was purely because Hari Singh wanted to remain independant or there were other reasons, the jury is still out there to be decided.

Fifth, the word jumla should not be coming from the author who seems to be leaning heavily towards one party. The party that ruled India for well over 55yrs & gave us hundreds of jumlas over the 6 decades calling out a under 4yr old govt is the worst example of pot of the blacksmith calling the kettle black.

If my aunt would have been a male he would have been my uncle, mister Utkarsh. Ifs & buts have no significance when you try to equate Patel's descendants with Nehru's. How on earth do you know that Patel would have followed exactly the same trend of dynastic politics which Nehru upto his 4th generation chooses to follow? So please lets not go predicting on something which never happened. What if that had happened is a totally different matter as both probabilities exist.
Lastly but the most important pointer, if Mr. Utkarsh wants to put corrupt under inverted commas & justify the loot of 9 lakh crores of public money, hardly anythin

So 1 jumla is justified. You mean to say it is ok for X to murder 2 people since Y has murdered 4 people? Two wrongs never make a right. Please it was not just one jumla, there were thousands of jumlas since 1952 till present given by Congress, so let not the pot call the kettle black.

People of this country came to know that PM, Modi is a liar and he is not at all capable for PM post. It is better to resign from this post and make the way for a capabale PM, like Advani, etc. But before he resign he should explain or justify Rs. 59000 crores deals of Rafale deals.
