PATHETIC HR SYSTEMS IN ORGANIZATIONS
by ashok s on Dec 27, 2018 08:58 PM

THE INCIDENT ONLY SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT THE HR ENVIRONMENT IN THE ORGANIZATION WHERE THE INCIDENT HAD TAKEN PLACE. AS PER PRINCIPLES OF NATURAL JUSTICE EVERY HUMAN ASSET HAS A RIGHT TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AND IT IS A ONUS CAST ON THE MANAGEMENT TO PROVIDE THEM ADEQUATE OPPORTUNITY IN THIS REGARD WHILE ALSO HEAR ALL THE FACTS CONCERNING ANY COMPLAINT OR GRIEVANCE. TODAY HR FAD IS MORE IN KNEE JERK REACTIONS WITHOUT ADHERING TO THE BASIC TENETS OF NATURAL JUSTICE. THE PINK SLIP ENVIRONMENT AND INSECURITY IN THE JOB'S ARE TAKEN UNDUE ADVANTAGE BY VESTED INTERESTS WHO KINDLE THE HORNET'S NEST BY LEAVING ETHICS AND GOOD PRACTICES ASIDE. IF THE ORGANIZATION HAD FAIR AND PROPER HR PRACTICES, YES, WE COULD HAVE SAVED A LIFE AS WELL NAILED THE PERPETRATOR WHOEVER IT WAS. YES ORGANIZATIONS SHOULD WAKE UP AND HR SHOULD BE ON EQUITY WITH JUSTICE AND NOT RELY ON POPULIST MEASURES

Arrest Genpact CEO
by vinay joshi on Dec 27, 2018 08:08 PM  | Hide replies

How can one suspend a senior employee, based on just mere allegations of two employees, without a proper enquiry, based on principle of natural justice, and decide in a few minutes. The girls most probably had an axe to grind, with regard to their work performance, promotion or other issues. They should now been also put under severe scanner and a case registered against them.

Wonderful!! You must get an award. By penalizing women who speak up about harrassment, you are creating an environment in which male predators(And there are lots of them) will be emboldened to take liberties at the workplace. And female employees would be too scared to come out even if they are harrassed and victimized and would prefer to suffer in silence. You really need to get an award. Btw, how many times have you been groped in public by a girl? How many times have you been leered at by women and have become the object of salacious jokes? Ask your si_ster or your wife about these incidents and there would be plenty that they will tell you about. Don't be an MCP. the guy was definitely NOT innocent. Otherwise he would not have committed suicide. The suicide confirms the crime.

People like you who immediately come to conclusion are dangerous to society. The guy was a culprit or innocent is secondary here. When you talk of gender equality then why the guy was not allowed to give explanations? If the allegations are proved false then can the HR bring him back to life?
You are saying that the suicide confirms his guilt, once the stain of a culprit gets stamped onto your personality, no matter what you do , even after you are proved innocent beyond doubt, the stain will remain. Metoo has started killing people and many will follow soon unless it is reined with strict laws.

The guy was suspended, not dismissed. He was suspended cos many individuals in powerful positions use that period to coerce victims, buy witnesses and use every trick in the book to wriggle free. To ensure a fair probe, it is imperative that the individual does not come in contact with anyone in that period. Secondly, is there smoke without fire? How can you assume that he was NOT guilty? Why would anyone file a case just for the heck of it? Lastly, why did he commit suicide?

Misandry runs very deep in you. You see virtue in everything women do and are ready to find fault and jump to conclusions at the drop of a hat. His suicide confirms his innocence not guilt.

I hope some pathetic woman accuses you of harassment too - we will see whether you commit suicide to prove your guilt or innocence then.

metoo
by Manohar Rao on Dec 27, 2018 07:24 PM

I had always been against these kind of campaigns which accuses man and held him guilty without verifying the facts and allowing the man to defend. Even when the man comes clean out of this accusation, he can never again face his family and society again because that stain on his character never will get erased completely.
Just a couple of years ago there was rule that if a girl complaints against her in-laws for dowry harassment then her in-laws were put into jail without inquiry, thanks fully that law has been made strict and if the allegations are proved to be wrong then the girl will have to face the music.
A law against such metoo campaigns should also come, the girls who accused Mr. Sampat should be punished severely if their allegations are proved false and similarly Genpact should be fined heavily for not following proper norms.

Workplace behaviours
by on Dec 27, 2018 10:43 AM  | Hide replies

Women accusing Men of Sexual harassment has been very common in large companies especially IT companies. I am reminded of an incident my wife narrated a year ago. She works in large IT company. A colleague of hers has personal issues(mostly infertility related), she was an emotionally hypersensitive and could not tolerate normal office banter. She went and complained to her manager that a male colleague is sexually harassing her. The first thing (perhaps the only thing) the manager did was to verify the facts with my wife was sits across the cubicle. Thankfully my wife was sane enough to clarify that it was usual male banter. Imagine if instead my wife was equally hyper about this, the male colleague would be crucified for no reason.

Now the above incident is among south Indian men and women in office, who dont party or drink. Imagine the possibilities in more companies with more open cultures like Sponsored drinks and girls from cities like Gurgaon, many of whom usually drink, drink till they either lose their sanity or puke them all out. Without knowing the nitty gritties of the case, I can't judge. But just illustrating how circumstances are likely to have panned out.

Those are exceptions, not the rule. Also, men with predatory behaviour at the workplace is rare, not common. But it does exist. When it comes to sexual harrassment, it is almost always a man harrassing a woman. If you don't believe, count the number of eve teasing incidents in police stations and then count the number of adam teasing incidents that you have observed or any of your fiends have observed. Men should set their own house in order. It is time for women to fight back and they are doing the same.

A lot more is getting done than required and necessary thanks to misandric people like you who are so conditioned to think in one skewed direction that they have lost their ability to think straight.

Fact is that there are 3 laws that are most abused in the Indian polity and used as weapons rather than a shield:
SC/ST atrocities law
Dowry harassment law/s - IPC 498A/DV
Prevention of Sexual Harassment law

The last two are wantonly abused by women...with support of people like you
