The Supreme court
by piri on Nov 29, 2017 06:10 PM

is the final high barrier that stands in the way of the pack of jackals that is in power at the centre now.

The frustration arising from this was expressed openly just 2 days ago by the Union law minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad, who vented his ire by asking the Chief Justice of India why he cant trust the Prime Minister to appoint a judge !!!

The context is the rejection by the Supreme court of the recommendation of the Modi govt to switch from the Collegium system for appointment of judges to appointment by the proposed National Judicial Appointments Commission (in which the executive would have a crucial role). Switching to the NJAC would effectively have meant taking away the independence of the judiciary that the framers of the constitution had laid such great emphasis on.

This subtle attempt by the Modi govt to gain a say in the appointment of judges (and emulate the late Indira Gandhi) was defeated by the Supreme court.

In sheer frustration, the law minister ranted that the judiciary must surrender its freedom to the executive with the comic justification that the nation has trusted the PM with the nuclear button !

We have heard several such people preach to others ... but finally when it came to their own selves, they responded quite differently. Total hypocrites. When Amulya Ganguly goes through these very problems, then probably wisdom may prevail.

@ Hating parents in a marriage less than 180 days is probable. But when the marriage novelty wears off and reality begins to bite, then reality will be too bitter to swallow.

with his vintage type of articles.
A parrot of "freedom and morality", his formularist clichés and articles rarely make any impact on the readers.
Ganguliji, the youth do not need your moral science lecturing.
Paradigms have greatly changed and the youth are matured enough to form their own philosophy.

Seems the writer needs awakening and very fond of imaginations. Mr.Ganguly just imagine your daughter/Sister marries a person from so called oppressed community. then imagine her and your plight. Please dont forget to share your valuable thoughts after that!!!!
