I agree with Mr Patel on this one. It is also true of many other Indian communities which do not have much exposure to fighting. Gujaratis have contributed more through trade and commerce. Many communities in India do not have an entrepreneurial streak in them-some one can ask: has anyone questioned this? Communities participating in warfare will arise only when the country is underpopulated and we have very few people who will be willing to enrol in the forces. Europe and middle east faced this in the past and hence they have the concept of conscription. This is/was not applicable to India

. With due respect to all communities, it is all about passion and ability.
No use having a jawan who is not capable of doing his job.

Yes you are absolutely right. Gujratis are not mostly soldiers\' community. They have produced leaders like Mahatama Gandhi, Patel,Morarji Desai, a number of religious saints, big businessmen, big donors in nations\' cause, great schoalers etc etc. Whenever there is call for national cause, they have been in the forefront whether in India or abroad as donors. They have brought respect to the nation in countries abroad. They are hard working and talented business people. Every community can not produce fighters..it is a matter of DNA..they serve the nation by supporting fighters and patriotism......And I am not a gujrati......but an observer only...
