In a democracy the parliament is above the army which shall always remain subservient to the people. Army cannot supersede any institution of the nation. We are not North Korea,yet.

regarding national security the army should be above all including the Parliament under the Indian commander(ie the President). If for everything the army waits for the parliament's permission then we may loose the vast areas in India to the chinese. Then it will be of no use in regretting.
Doesnt the author understand if it is easy for Indian soldiers to reach that place then it is easy for the invading force to reach the mainland using the same road as well. The reason the roads have not been built is to make it even more difficult for enemy soldiers and equipment to reach the mainland. At the same time, India can use artillery to attack the enemy troops caught up in the difficult terrain
When most of India does not even accept residents of NE as Indians, and subject them to racial harassment, what can we expect from successive governments that have left the NE states to fend for themselves. We as mainland Indians love the concept of having oriental looking people among us, if not for anything else, just to prove that we are tolerant towards all races and consists of varied people and cultures. Let us wake up. Lip service to nationalism will get us nowhere. Let us integrate the NE into India and make our nation complete.
It had been Govt.policy including five years of A.B.VAjpayee Govt. that there should no roads or only scanty ,difficult roads in all the borders with China. And hence the less amount that was spent. The idea was taken from the world war ii where German army could be stopped by Russians because there were no roads and the experience at Burma for the Japanese army. Now in this technological world the policy has been revised and the advantages for us visa-a-vi the enemy has been analyzed and found by strategists that in the Indian context a speedy arrival of Indians,food,ammunition would be advantageous against the enemy. So now the concentration is on constructing the roads.
Were always our bitter rivals. But srilanka bangla and nepal too have distanced from india and i will fully blame flop bjp govt and its worst foreign policy. China will have upperhand if these minnow countries allow china to use their territory incase war happens. First improve relationship with these countries n make sure they dont help china
