Noble peace prize -Mahatma Gandhi
by SAMUEL FERNANDES on Mar 05, 2017 03:47 PM

No doubt Mahatma Gandhi deserves Noble peace prize posthumously at least. Many Indian/world people may not be aware that one more freedom fighter from ANDHRA Telugu state Mr.POTTI SREERAMULU ,the one and only who sacrificed his precious life by FASTING UNTO DEATH by going on FAST for 58 days(died on 58 day) for creation of ANDHRA state also deserves NOBLE prize for getting statehood peacefully.Mr.POTTI SREERAMULU would be mostly first & last true DeshaBhakta to sacrifice his life by fasting record 58 days( not simply threaten Gifts fast taken up now a days)

it is foolish to expect Nobel to Mahatma
by chetan kothalkar on Jan 18, 2017 09:58 AM

It is foolish to award a Noble prize to Mahatma Gandhi. He is above it.
Government has already instituted a prize in his name for work for peace. This prize is equivalent to Noble.
Nobody should reduce importance of Mahatma by asking/demanding for Noble to him.

can it be given posthumously? if so, we will demand those whites. There are hundreds of cases of hits and misses. Now a demand for conferring Bharat Ratna to Jayalalita posthumously, also NTR.

As a matter of policy the prize is not awarded posthumously. In one case the prize was announced to a scientist by the committee which was unaware of the awardee's death three days earlier. The prize money and the medal were handed over to the heirs. One particular year there was no announcement of the peace prize due to the prevalent political situation. A few months after the due date of announcement the UN Secretary General Dag Hamersjoeld died in an air crash and the award was given to him posthumously. These are the only exceptions.

Gandhi.

Here is why Gandhi should win the noble prize.

1. He conspired with the British to kill Bhagat Singh and his Comrades and prevented an opportunity for a communist revolution in India. Everyone knows that a Communist revolution was must for India but Gandhi prevented that due to his obvious religious bias.

2.Gandhi was never really a revolutionary. He used to sit in his ashram and went onto a fast to death preventing Ambedkar and other to achieve social justice. Ironically he also fasted when a few Indians decided to rightly teach the British a lesson.

3. All the while in his ashram he led a comfortable life drinking the choicest food of Ghee, Butter and Orange juice while portraying himself as a saint to the masses.

4. But the greatest crime Gandhi managed to achieve was to teach the Indian people the philosophy of Non-violence. It is precisely because of Gandhi that India is today what India is - a politically corrupt, extremely poor, backward, hierarchical Nation where 90% of it people are still living below 2000 rupees a month.

5. His idea of integration of Religion went for a toss when partition succeeded and people were killing each other left right and center.

6. While preaching Religious unity the same Gandhi encouraged the invasion of Pakistan. It is said that the saint of Non-violence gave his spiritual approval to Nehru to attack Pakistan.

7. around with pre-nubscient girls at the age of 74.

Yes Gandhi deserves a Noble prize.

If nobel prize would have been given to Gandhji

If nobel prize would have been given to Gandhji, and Bapu would have accepted it, the prestige of nobel prize would have gone up.

We are taught by the Neharu influenced text books that Gandhi's nonviolent hunger strike made Britisher's threatened and left India! In fact Gandhi's way made Britishers more secure in India and they looted our wealth efficiently. Ultimately Britishers left India after second world war due to Subash Chandra Bose's well trained army came back to India which was great threat to their security.Secondly after sufficient loot there was nothing more left. After all what freedom Gandhi got. He lost 33 percent of our land for Pakistan which has been created on religious basis to give continuous torture to India and Lakhs of people became homeless. Moreover Gandhi was forcing then Indian Govt. to construct road across India to connect east Pakistan to West Pakistan and donate 500 crores of rupees to Pakistan which Pak used to purchase arms and ammunition to fight against India.

Please go trough some unbiased books on economics of British era on India. The plundered the country upto end of 19th century. It was much before Gandhiji joining the freedom movement. Then they started earning from expoting finished goods to India and restricting other countries from exporting to India by keeping rupee conversion value high. Gandhiji understood it and reacted with swadeshi movement. In the last phase of their rule they started investing in India In sectors like telecom, steel, banking, machinery and railways. The day tthey found that the freedom movement has spread across the country and the cost of governance is higher than the revenue earned, they decided to leave the country. Please don't hate Gandhi by reading some RSS stuff and listening the biased oratory of the fascists.

Gandhi was a british trojan horse to keep the violent freedom movement in check. We got freedom because the British would be thrown out by the battle hardened Indian army. Google Bombay Naval mutiny of 1946 which compelled the British to give us independence. Why is this mutiny never mentioned by our text books or the congress?

You are talking about people who served the British army and upressed fellow Indian for a monthly salary. Even sepoy mutiny was for the royal families and not for the general public. If sepoy mutiny would have succeeded, the era of the monarchy of India monarchs would have returned. Certainly India would not have remained one country under such circumstances.
