'OM' is a sound
by aam admi on May 19, 2016 10:52 AM

if chanted properly help to be healthy.
Why 80% Indians should be denied chanting of OM. however if any one not interested can avoid this chanting . or even other Ishlokas of Sanskrit and do only Yoga.
But denying this chant to those who are willing , is unjustifiable and appeasement.

Yoga yes..Om No
by TRAVEL CONSULTANT on May 19, 2016 09:21 AM  | Hide replies

Hi. Yoga asanas has got nothing to do with chanting om. chanting of Om and for that matter Bharat Mata should be left to the choice of an individual. Correctly chanting of Om has got its scientific reasons and the vibrations have got good effects to the body, however, since it is so much more about religious significance, it should be left on the individual choice.

WE ARE NOT HERE TO FOLLOW THE RSS AGENDA. IN A DEMOCRACY, IT IS AN INDIVIDUALS CHOICE TO CHANT A PARTICULAR SLOGAN OR NO. NO ONE CAN DICTATE.

No OM for Yoga day
by Sanjay Rajkumar on May 18, 2016 06:20 PM

OM is a religious note and belongs to Hinduism. It will not be acceptable to the other religions as per their belief. If we want to make Yoga universal, need to detach any religious angle.

Human body has three parts, Body which is seen, Mind-unseen, Intellect(wisdom)-unseen, yoga is a cure to all without any expenditure for healthy life.
It should be taken in broader perspective instead of religious mode.

Do not agree that it is compulsory, actually trained people in other communities are not available, but Yoga is done in the world in many countries, they all do not chant OM.

CHANTING OMM IN JOGA CLASS
by ARJUN SAHU on May 18, 2016 04:05 PM

It should not be compulsory. Those who want to chant, they may chant sweetly. Those who do not want should not be targeted, either they should be encouraged for YOGA class for their mental fitness. It can be practised by all without confined to any community. \"We are Indian\". This feeling is sufficient. We must get together. This is our old method to get peace in mind. Thanks

Yoga and the Om chant
by daniel thorat on May 18, 2016 03:53 PM  | Hide replies

As there is simply nothing established scientifically about precisely what and how yoga benefits human beings, it is nothing more than a Hindutva promotion suggestion. Apart from totally mythological, unprovable, unhistorical, tales of fantasies in various scriptures, is there any one who could explain what Om means, in which language, with what proven result/benefits? I sincerely believe that Yoga is not at all a physical exercise, but it is fully mental and spirit-affecting practice, because in every physical exercise, there has to be a repetitive physical action/work under stress. There is none in yoga. A Yoga teacher, showed to me that SHAWASAN, for example, is nothing but telling yourself that life is ebbing out from your body, there is no exercise whatsoever. I do feel it is an unnecessary fad, promoted and financially supported by this govt. through people like Ramdev and others. The whole world, except some Northern India regions, has been living a healthy long life WITHOUT Yoga. Yoga is also a diversion. Also a mind-bend science, according some studies.

Yoga is being practiced by many countries now. Common stop blabbering that you have seen or read any benefit of yoga. Though OM chanting is not a necessity, saying yoga is not useful is the most insance sentence. Anything for your religion eh!

Yoga is being practiced from hundreds of years and it is popular and accepted around the globe. The people are not fool to do Yaga without any benefits. The people are simply criticise the Yoga for sake of criticism without any basis and knowledge.
