Om is an integral part and the root of Yoga. When you accept Yoga, you have to accept all aspect of it. Or leave it. It is like saying use computer which doesnot have memory in it.

You are absolutely right and again controversy is only being done by media class and few politicians, common man doesn't have any such concerns, if chanting om is integral part of yoga why to ask such non sense question....these people are mocking everything which is related to hindus now...
'OM' is not ordinarily uttered. It is with a deep drawn breath from the umbilical. The same breath is let go off in restrained manner. That way the breath consecrated with enchantment of 'OM' traverses 54x2 = 108 vertebra in which event the skull is one in bone-count stays as witness of the process. In deep ascetic Japs it is advised in Tantra too to count all the 108 beads of a garland in one breath. Deep in the essence such is the cult heraldic of Hindu rites. No matter who practises it to sublimate subliminal characteristics deep within living organism.
Even if non-hindus do yoga on that day, the percentage is not going to be more than 20%. They can always not say the hymn...What is the problem with the media...creating a paranoia on "Om".

Why bias media like Rediff is unnecessary creating controversies opposing chanting of OM during yoga exercise ? Yoga is being practiced in many countries abroad and no one has any objection then why Rediff has ? Those who don't like OM may know that it is not compulsory to practice Yoga. It is for the benefit of people . If they don't want more effect of yoga they may skip chanting of OM and do something different if they find more beneficial to them but I am sure it will not be as effective as by chanting OM during yoga exercise.
Media should stop creating controversy out of everything. The word 'Om" has a very unique sound and while chanting it, our body and respiratory system goes through a unique exercise. But those people who find it offending due to religious reason are of-course free to chant anything or nothing. DON'T CREATE A CONTROVERSY.
