Problem but no solution
by PK Sagar on May 11, 2016 09:53 AM  | Hide replies

This perennial problem of Adivasis being displaced or looted etc is perennial problem but has no acceptable solution. Can anyone offer a practical solution instead of criticizing the government? Should India continue to be an underdeveloped country forever? Are the politicians willing to look for solutions? We only have questions but no answers

Once you leave the industries access to these Adivasi areas, not only the Adivasis will end up in poverty and disease but the industries will ravish the jungles and the land and make it a desert. Population needs to be controlled. The current levels of industrialization is more than what mother earth can handle.

Adivasis only spoiling Environment
by Hanumantharao on May 11, 2016 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

Every adivasis for his survival cutting the trees for day to day need. one adivasis will cut few trees every day . if you Take lakhs of adivasis total no cutting of tree calculate , then Adivasial also become against environment. but Adivasis never plant any tree to safe guard the environment.
So Adivais & corporate are cutting tree, in that who safe guarding the environment ????
Those really worried about environment will plant trees, never give speeches or visit foreign countries.

your logic needs revisit.. first of all, even if Adivasis cut trees, some sort of tree plantation, by natural source, take place because they do not destroy the other plantations or vegetation .. corporates do not do that.. they destroy all other vegetations and that affect the ecological balance as well.. so, think about it

Adibvasi Leadership
by Kuldeep Chandra on May 11, 2016 07:58 AM

When everything seems to be against you, when governments do not talk, when you carry truth, the method is not to think bad about the others but to stick to your truth innovatively like Gandhi Ji, take care of your people by involving them in mass economic activity nthat genrate some sustence for them like the Khadi, and do Satygrah to achieve your goal without illwill against anybody Power of your truth will change the mindset of the opponents. Make mineral exploration and exploitation both ecology and environmentally friendly. Begin to be part of solution and not remain as aprt of problem

Its true...
by Rahul Khaitan on May 11, 2016 04:16 AM

... that the line between development and human / habitat displacement is very blurred....

The larger consuming nations and populations need resources, the enterprises more money and people more jobs and livelihood.

The state cannot deal with the subject in a hushed manner though. It has to have a healthy debate.... It was sad to see pictures of very innocent faces with their way of life totally ruined.

by SundaraRajan K on May 10, 2016 09:27 PM  | Hide replies

Is it is the first time that land, water and forest from the Adivasis were taken and handed it over to corporates?
Then how the Government that ruled for 6 decades managed to exploit the minerals in the area??

Both the Congress and the BJP are mere agents of big time corporate thieves such as the Jindals, the Mallyas, the Dhoots, the Ambanis, the Adanis, the POSCOs, the Vedantas, etc. !

There is no difference at all between them when it comes to matters of real substance !

Since u cannot become as big as these people they are theives otherwise what proof u have to say they are theives? Nothing. This is all due toi frustration of being nothing. If you are supporting commie it is fine but just levelling allegation is not enough try to prove something... Oh no you cannot since you do not even have the knowledge for it...oops what to do

If this so then you should know it is for the first time in history of India, that any Central (Modi) Govt has introduced TAX on Dividend exceeding Rs 10 lakhs. So if mukhesh ambani gets Rs 16000 crores as dividend from Reliance Indutries Limited, which was exempted by tax until now, he will have pay around Rs 1599 crores as Dividend tax, which was not happening till today.

Yes. you are correct. If a sin is committed by earlier government means it can be committed by the present govt also. If they have done wrong we also do the same wrong. The future govts also should do the same wrong and clear all the forests by giving to the industrialists.

Let the Government discuss this issue. This belt from the north to A.P. in the south is rich in mineral resources and forest where these Adivasis live. Why should we not listen to thei ideas of sustainable development? Let them even be Maoists. Listen to their grievances. Show genuine sympathy. Don\'t listen to their Maoism, implied or patent.
