I personally do not agree with the comments expressed in the report by Mr Bhadrakumar because it is biased and not in clear prospection, both China and Pakistan are exploiting the weaknesses of Indian democracy which has been largely used by congress for long time to remain in power right from Mr Nehru to Shadowed Mr manmohan Singh time for one and only fact to have power never ever thought as strong nation for vote

hobbled by it's own limits, not India's

Generally foreign policy involves a lot of back-channel negotiations, and patient nuanced diplomacy tactic. Then there is an element of perception-making to show to the domestic & international community. However it seems in this govt's foreign policy perception-making has taken precedence over a nuanced diplomacy tactic. Hence we had disasters like the Pathankot probe which seemed more like a image-making exercise.

Then there is the constraints of the govt to patronize its right-wing followers. That's why we see impulsive decisions like the Uyghurs visa fiasco scenario.

The govt. seems to have been caught between it's chest-thumping rhetoric and ground realities.

All in all the current foreign policy seems more of a PR-exercise for it's own right-wing followers, and a perception-creating machinery for the international community.

A premature assessment

A former ambassador no less should know that there are no silver bullets in foreign affairs. And less so in a scenario created by India's own misadventures driven by the personal ambitions of former politicians. It is no secret that China is foments trouble in India through Pakistan. It serves both China's and Pakistan's domestic needs.
Previous governments have sullied the path a little much by their servile if inept handling of foreign affairs. As with the economy, Indian foreign affairs need to untangled before making positive progress. And none of this can happen in a couple of years. Remember for close to 69 years, the problem has been allowed to fester aided by Indian domestic political considerations. At least NaMo has tried something new that is observable.
MKB as an IFS veteran must know that Foreign Affairs is a long sequence of forward and backward steps that will lead us to the desired result. If he did believe that a resolution to the India-China-Pak issue could be achieved in 2 years, he is living in a fool's paradise and also that the IFS has squandered money on training an inept bureaucrat.

If you are so aware about the nuances involved in foreign affairs, why were you & your brethren screaming & abusing the govt during the previous UPA rule.Admit it that the bully has been shown his place by a bigger bully-China.
