I am no supporter of any political party or ideology at present. But this entire argument against Bachchan's presidency seems to be pretty shallow. Firstly let me make a statement that has been corroborated by historians, most presidents of India, including our first and except for APJ Kalam were people who were awarded the post because of their loyalty to the nehru-gandhi family. There is no dispute about this. And in spite of most of their illustrious background and education, none of them could leave a mark in India's democracy. APJ Kalam changed the entire perspective of what a president could do for the country. His achievements equal the so called 'achievements' of all our past presidents, who were mere rubber stamps. History is witness to this. And the lesser said about Pratibha Patil, the better. Amitabh Bachchan is an iconic personality who is not only educated, but also well read and has his head on this shoulders right. And he says the right things, and conducts himself with dignity in public. There is no reason why he cannot be a suitable candidate for India's presidentship. Probably, if he does end up as India's president he might be the next best president after APJ Kalam. Let us not try and look at everyones contribution to India's freedom struggle as a yardstick to representing India. Most of us also know that the British were on their way out anyway, and Nehru and the INC were at the right place at the right time to ensure that they could inherit the

Brother AB does nt have capacity to fight the wrath of crude politicians as he left the arena once because he is more worried of his name and his contribution is in the field of entertainment which somehow entertains the society. what is his bench mark act of his life to be narrated before society .
If likes of Pratibha Patil, Fakruddin, Zail can, then why not Amitabh? He has handled his success and failures with equal poise which are qualities of a good leader and has very good upbringing, why not?
Sir One has to see the capabilities, characters etc of one's before putting a subject for debate. In my view put a fullstop here. President is the first person of the country. So we have to maintain the Dignity.
we can try n give him a chance for the poost be-couse of his personality and more over he is from allahbad. so we can alwyas try o see how good he will be as president of india.
