Historically India suffered due to lack of unity. The responsibility of defending the soveriegnity of the country was entrusted to a handful few called kshatriyas and 80 percent of the people never thought it is their responsibility also to defend themselves. All the invaders knew this lacunae in Indian caste system. Read Babarnama about the civic and cultural India of his times. In other geographies the entire population revolted against tyranny of invaders.
Aakar lost it again. Wonder how such dumb people get so important positions in an organization. Really, some connections are required. Hindu rulers you gave examples are from medieval ages but are you are using it to say Hind@s are intolerant? What rubbish? Hind@s are not in power for about 1000 years and has suffered genocides during these years. Had they been intolerant the demographics would have been different. In fact Hind@s have tolerated irrespective of the gencoide perpetrated by invaders in India which is not the case for other geographies. Their temples were desecrated. All the riots in our country have been started by other communities and still Hind@s get the blame when respond as if Hindus only should be tolerant.
Biggest issue is why minority could not win the trust of majority in last 65 years and in majority of cases, first attack in riots is done by minority.
