Minister-SP controversy
by Balbir Beniwal on Nov 28, 2015 05:21 PM

Police \"Kaptan\" is a very sensitive and responsible position. The incumbent should be extremely mature and composed. This quality is of particular importance during mob/public handling. An immature officer may prove dangerous. The SP argued with the minister or the complainant which was quite imprudent. The complaint was grossly serious and in larger public interest and the concern of the minister was quite genuine. Simply assuring that more care would be taken in future would have satisfied the public and the minister and situation would not have aggravated. The officer should be more professional. What else could have the minister done other than leaving the room?

Adamancy and ego is superior most with IPS/IAS and other services, as they know, no one can touch them right or wrong upto retirement similalry politicians are also victim of it, We have seen Khemka in Haryana who could not work with anyone, and so many other cases.
Common man is concerned with accountability of all these people including Minister. Not interested to know what is in between politicians and IPS.

Instead saying it as from a particular party minister almost from every party. Showing their supremacy in the presence of Public is inhuman. No higher officials during their departmental meeting treating their juniors like this. While Teachers are being advised by the Govt to treat their students decently, as to how this minister shouted agst her to get out.

OFFICER IS WRONG
by on Nov 28, 2015 05:01 PM  | Hide replies

If the minister is not satisfied with the answers and working of the officer, he has the right to transfer or even suspend the officer. Otherwise, why should he made answerable to the public?

The Minister asked the SP rank Lady officer to get out from here in front of her juniors and public. Do you think, it was proper for a minister to say so.

Illicit Liquor
by MS Chandrashekar on Nov 28, 2015 04:39 PM  | Hide replies

I saw the video clip of the whole episode. In a public meeting where people complained about illicit liquor being sold, the minister asked the police of what action they have taken. Instead of giving a professional answer, the lady IPS officer stated that they don't give license to illicit liquour. I thinkthat is where she should have been cautious. While I appreciate the courage of the officer to take on aneta, she should have focussed on what actions she has been taking to curb the illicit liquour and how much it has been successful and how much more needs to be done. In public if you give it back to a neta that too for a change when the neta is talking the right thing, it would be difficult to escape the wrath!!

The minister was right is questioning the officer
by Mature Stud on Nov 28, 2015 04:31 PM  | Hide replies

The officer is corrupt and was trying to shield the liquor mafia. And BJP is really trying hard to reverse the ills of Kangis. Many such corrupt officers need to be replaced.

May be the officer is corrupt; but who is going to judge the same; should it not be judiciary; where are the evidences of corruption. you just can'nt paint a man black and then call him black. He is a minister and definitely is S.P. if follow decorum, so should the minister. what is the need of loosing one's cool. the NGO's have a right to plead to minister, the SP also has a right that matter should have been placed before them beforehand and the minister should have balanced out the matter. then the C M should also do justice to serving officers. What is the difference between lalloism and khattarism????
