Any fight to be for attaining freedom, it should be against the ruling power, simply not against the incomers. Here in this case, which was the ruling power ? If he were a citizen of any British occupied area and had he fought against the rulers, then we could have considered his as a freedom fight. But for terming it as an Indian freedom struggle, it must satisfy some more points.
WHETHER TIPPU WAS A FREEDOM FIGHTER OR INTOLERANT RULER LET US NOT BOTHER. WHEN TH MOOD OF THE MAJORITY IN INDIA IS NOT FAVOURABLE BETTER BE WISE NOT WRITE. IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO BE A WRITER BUT ONE SHOULD ALSO BE WISE. HEAVEN WILL NOT FALL IF TIPPU S DAY IS NOT CELEBRATED. NATIONS PEACE IS TMOST IMPORTANT. THERE ARE LOTS OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS. ARE WE CELEBRATING. VANCHINATHAN SHOT COLLECTOR ASH IN MANIYACHI JUNCTION AND IMMEDIATELY SHOT HIMSELF. TIRUPUR KUMARANCHAVADI WAS BEATEN TO DEATH FOR HOLDING THE NATIONAL FLAG. TAMIL NADU PROTESTED AGAINST RAJINI KANTH AND HE IMMEDIATELY REFUSED TO ACT AS TIPPU.
it is very common like in India that few people because of Jealous unnecessary they will comment they born to criticise only. they don't have any vision in their mind like RSS people only divide and rule policy, but the true legends will continue their service to India, and the real legends don't bother such barking..!

Many people think that kings who fought British are freedom fighters. Any king will defend his empire. They fought to protect their kingdom and cannot be termed as freedom fighter of India.
Freedom fighter of India are only those who fought for the entire nation and not just for protecting their interest alone.
All kings including Shivaji fought for their kingdom. reedom fighters can be termed only when we fought for India nd not for Mysore or Maratha or Delhi...
Chandragupta Vikramaditya, Akbar, Raja Raja Chola, Krishna deva Raya.........those hundreds of other monarchs of Indian history............................and of course, the British rulers....................were all, in essence, tormentors and robbers for commoners !!
None of them need to be given any more importance in history or any more respect than the footnotes they should be limited to can give them !
