Tipu Sultan is fondly remembered as TIGER OF MYSORE whereas he should have been called TIGER OF INDIA for being fought till last breath with Britishers. He was the last serious straw in forming the formidable British Empire in India, others meekly surrendered and are enjoying till date their havelis, wealth whereas TIPU perished defending this land till his last breath. The only difference is that he is not projected as TIGER OF INDIA just because he is a Muslim. Allegations apart only those who are hurling the abuses know the reality. One example Shrngeri Mutt was ransacked by Marathas and Tip rebuild it and restored to it;s glory. Proof 18 letters written by Tippu which are in custody of this Mutt.

History: never reveals 100% truth and practically not necessarily be. Some hails and some curse- historians to their limited knowledge, acquired information write. Even now we can visibly see, when a popular person die only good deeds are being spoken. After 2/3 generations when his memories are out of mind, somebody writes good and some body bad. Now a days people hail leaders of their community and create disturbance to the present generation.

This guy fought British, because British fought him, and not because he wanted freedom for India.

The atro cities in North Kerala can be seen from the demographics. Muslam population is concentrated in Districts adjoining Mysore and Kodagu viz. Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod. The Brahmins and Nairs who escaped settled in Cochin Travancore region where they were given shelter by those kings. You can also see how Muslams in Kerala are different from Muslams in other parts of India. It is because of their ancestral traditions and practices, they do not know Hindi or Urdu, they still practice and believe in astrology, many vaidhyars still present and continue practising Ayurveda, their customs and practices are different.

Please read celebrated historian and author William Logan's Malabar Manual and Gundert's Kerala Pazhama. Compared to Tipu Sultan's atro cities, British we should say treated Indians with kid gloves.
