Tippu was a ruthless raider who killed many and converted by force the rest during his Malabar Campaign. It is an accident that he had to fight the British. That does not make him a Patriot
is talked about in kerala.. he and his army were ruthless against the hapless commoners almost all of whom were hindus...These commoners must have heaved a sigh of relief when tipu was defeated..
Many people think that kings who fought British are freedom fighters. Any king will defend his empire. They fought to protect their kingdom and cannot be termed as freedom fighter of India.
Freedom fighter of India are only those who fought for the entire nation and not just for protecting their interest alone.

Well said Saba. It is a myopic view of some people. Tipu does not diseve to be called a freedom fighter. He is a muslim ruler who invaded India. He fought with the british to save his captured land.
