increasing temperatures
by niran patet on May 28, 2015 12:16 PM

India as a society needs to stop: 1. increasing urbanisation without proper tree cover; 2. increasing use of airconditioning must be reversed, must use air coolers and make airy rooms; 3. some curb on population increase - make marriages late in age etc.; 4. stop increasig use of individualistic machines and cars - instead have some sort of community based facilities, buses for transport, washing of clothes, etc.

Indian Government is Highly incompetitive
by RSS on May 28, 2015 03:20 AM

Indian Forest Department is making money from Tiger & Lion reserves in the name of conservation.

Indian Government and Builders want Destruction of Forests for Development, Mining, Timber, Industries, Buildings, Dams, Railways and Roadways - Private people are also equally selfish and miserable and look only for their gains.

We have nothing to offer but for Smoke, Plastics, E-waste and Sewage to offer for The Earth in return for its Pristine Natural resources.

Hence Nature takes its Pound of F1esh whenever necessary.

The GOVT. SHOULD DIRECT ALL EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO HAVE WINTER VACATION INSEAD OF SUMMER. SUMMER THE SCHOOL'S CAN HAVE EARLY TIMINGS. CHILDREN'S VACATION FORCES THE PARENTS TO MOVE WHICH IS NOT ADVISABLE. VENKATESH IYER

With early timings the children will have to leave school when it is still very hot. Or am I mistaken?

Tough days to come as far as climate is concerned
by Jayaprakash Balan on May 27, 2015 05:11 PM

Its going to be tough for Indians especially the rural people where on one hand, deforestation has happened and all the green cover is gone in the name of development and on the other their economic status don't even allow them to have water. Sadly the most important is forgotten by everybody including the PM Modi. On one hand when he is trying for development, he has forgotton to give most importance to to retaining environment, stop illegal construction and retain the purity of villages. In fact, he is all the way going ahead to kill villages and environment by proposing Smart cities which would not do anything good except create more problems.

Govt has to frame and implement stringent rules
by Indian on May 27, 2015 04:53 PM

Government has to put strict regulations in place to protect the environment. Be it illegal constructions, deforestation, uncontrolled pollution, waste management, etc. Rules to this extent have to be followed to the last letter. It is the government's responsibility to implement the rules and people will have no choice but to follow it. As long as the govt is negligent, people will keep abusing it.

Dam it
by monojit b on May 27, 2015 04:14 PM

As rightly said, the bursting of the glacial lake in Kedarnath precipitated the devastation in Uttarakhand. This truth was shadowed by false publicity brainwashing Indians claiming that Dams were behind the evil. Dams which are actually built as a protection against flesh floods were blamed for no reason and Indians were deprived from getting the benefit from increase in power generation from the hydro projects and dams under construction.
