Apart from being convicted of culpable homicide, Khan was also found guilty of offences under section 279 Indian Penal Code (rash and negligent driving) and sections 337 and 338 IPC (causing hurt by acts endangering life or personal property of others), which prescribes six months jail.
Besides, he was sentenced to undergo jail for six months under sections 181 (driving without licence) and 185 of Motor Vehicles Act (drink driving).
Salman was found guilty under the Bombay Prohibition Act under section 66 (a) and (b) for which he received two months imprisonment and fine of Rs 500. All sentences will run concurrently. being slapped with the serious charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
It is very surprising that the sentence of Mr. Salman has been suspended and all the film personality are very much defending Mr. Salman. Had it been any other person, he would have been hanged by this time. Who said that we are a secular nation. We have the law that is often broken by the political and other super rich class people. As a secular(Pseudo Secular) country we have the law that is categorized as 1) Political Class 2) Super Rich 3) Celebrity. Mind you if any of the said category personnel have committed any crime, they get the support from any direction. We have another class 4) Common Man and 5) The poor people who are prosecuted by this very justice system and even if possible they build a false case and may go to any extent and punish the person's even though they are innocent. This is what we call a Socialist, Secular, Free India. Long live Democarcy

Now will the High Courts in India also please release all convicts in jail who cannot the services of Salve or Desai? Wake Up Judiciary of India.
Now the case will drag on for a few more years with Salman delaying the case in the High Court and then in the Supreme Court. By that time he would have become an old man and on Humanitarian grounds he won't be sent to jail. The world must be laughing at us.

Moxi's friendship has helped this guy. Moxi has helped so many crimina1s in getting the reprieve from courts :-)
sand mafias, corrupted politicians, killers of RTI activists, are openly enjoying in this country, then why make somebody like Salman a scapegoat for an unintentional accident ?
5 years punishment term was very harsh, Salman should have got the punishment for drunken driving and not culpable homicide since it was not the intentional crime and if you notice similar incidences in the past, Aliester Parreira had got only 3 years term even after 7 people were killed in his hit and run case, same is the case with Nuria Hawelliwalla, just because Salman is a top star doesn't mean that he should get more punishment, the law should be same for each person irrespective of one's stature. Also, Salman is not a habitual offender in the past, instead he has done a lot of social charity work through his foundation, raise a lot of money for poor and under priviledged children for their education and living, had done 600 heart surgeries of the children. These so called intellectual people, social activists, some journalists who consider themselves the' Messiah of Poor', have they really done 1/10th of what he has done?, when these so called social activists go when politicians and their sons involve in such hit and run cases, in rape, molestations on women cases, do they have courage or guts to spell out the names of such politicians?. There are plenty of such examples in the past when these people have done heinous crimes in the past and not a mere case was filed in the court against them forget the punishment. Murderers of Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare are not even identified by police yet and they are still wandering freely, rapists, extortionist, sand
Adaani, Ambani and now Salman are getting what they want in India, irrespective of what do they do ! When the 250000 lakhs undertrials rot in prisons, some one like Salman Khan get bail withn hours thans to the Seuper Rich Contacts in legal fraternity! and his rich contacts! Jai Hind
