It all shows the sick mindset of Dravidian Parties who always use Bhramins as their punch bag. I am surprised that this hate crime has not figured in national headline. Guys like Karunanidhi, Veeramani are to be blamed for sowing seeds of hatred and disharmony in the minds of young people. Also, various movies portray Bhramins as weak people and always make fun of their customs, speech etc. It is high time that a law is made which makes it a crime to make fun of a person based on caste, religion, gender, look and punishment should be severe. Culprits needs to be brought to justice and police should investigate with utmost sincerity.

reservations have brought imbalance in india. its not good to tilt the boat too much with power going in others hands instead of balance of power. such incidents are a proof that the boat has been tilted again in one section

This is an old strategy of the Dravidian parties from the days of \"self respect\" movement initiated by Periyar. The pernicious caste system lies at the root of such hate behavior. While all castes indulged in insulting communities supposedly lower on the pecking order, the Brahmins were often the target as they were perceived arrogant and patronizing in their relations with other communities. To a great extent this was true in Periyar\'s time, but times have changed, the \"backward castes\" have better opportunities and influence of Brahmins in politics and of

I agree. It is mostly leaders who have nothing to show for being respected and remembered for, who have been using the 'self respect' movement, deviously for political objectives.
The irony is none of the major political parties have condemned it.. None of the TV channels discussed this issue.. TN society is so anti-brahmin..ignore brahmins at your own peril..Will the TV channels keep quite if it was an attack on any other community?
It is shocking to see the insult to a poor old man. .....Is this how an old, poor defenceless man is treated in TN. Shame on the perpetrators and also SHAME on the current Chief Minister....who The has maintained a stoic silence on this matter. The joke is that none of the so called "leaders" of various political parties in the state have expressed their anguish over this matter.....!!!. This should be a good lesson to the Brahmins of this state and also in general to the elders in the state since they are not safe in this State. Perhaps, Mr OPS is awaiting the customary "okay " from " garden " ....!!!...and others are waiting for somebody to take the lead...!!!.... In any case, with this " Caretaker " Govt. TN will continue to go downhill and one cannot expect justice in this state....

There was a strong belief that after Sri Ram killed Raavan in the War, some Rakshas who were scared of Sri Ram, jumped into the sea and swam to Indian side and settled there. Today's tamils are their descendents and the natural behavior is still continuing. You cannot expect anything better.
