I think we are unnecessary mixing no related issues. Everybody need to understand that COW is considered a holy animal by the larger community of this country for last thousands of years. Other groups and section of society must respect it their faith is respected. Secondly the ban is imposed on the direction of the court. If anybody is having different opinion let him/her fight it out in court of law. they can not take law in their hand. Every time raking the issues on minority rights and playing dirty politics will not serve any purpose. This is the politics of opportunity. HINDU word has been made an issue of political gain by these groups. Instead of constructive politics they are playing destructive politics.

Arvind Potdar must know that cow is not considered as a holy animal except by Brahmins. Thousands of year people are eating beef. Why this sudden ban? There is no need to drag Pakisthan and Gulf countries. Pork is banned in the Bible but there is no ban in Western countries. It is all based on necessity.
Freedom to choose is what every human wishes and and that is what sets him apart from animals. Whether it is his faith, dress, food, haircut whatever..many have tried to take away that freedom, but ultimately no one can stop that.

If someone chooses to do witchcraft, no one can ultimately stop them..the proof is that people still perform witchcraft..
Yesterday, we were divided by British over religion, yet we stood steadfast and fought against them! Today, we are divided once again by our own people on who should eat what and what religion should one practice and profess! Are we going forward or moving backward!

Dear Shujath, I agree your statement that Britishers divided us over religion but if are aware of history who was interested to get divided? Who was succumbed to the game plan of Britishers? Today the same politics is going on and YOU, you are again getting succumbled to the same game plan of the interested groups. When YOU will see the larger picture? When YOU will treat yourself as true INDIAN than a Muslim or Christine etc? We have other religions also like Jains, Bidhists, Yahudis etc. I never heard any conflict with them. The main reason is they are completely and truly diluted themselves in INDIA. You are interested, even today to keep your separate identity intact. That is the main ISSUE.
I feel terribly sorry for the people who were involved in the beef business and depending on that for their livelihood. However, is beef the only thing that can be eaten here? There are so many alternatives that the ex-beef merchants or sellers can seek. There is no ban on chicken, mutton or fish etc. So why crib? I am not supporting BJP, but since there were hardly a few thousand protestors, I think the people have not taken it seriously and would like to move on in life even if it takes a couple of months to get back on track. Most of the people keep changing jobs, changing professions, etc. The beef merchants/sellers should not behave like the congress party workers and leaders who are dependent on ONE family and ONE business. They should look for alternatives....I wish them the very best in their new enterprise.
