High time to consider reservation policy on caste basis, this was given to only needy and deprived, but it has become vote bank and spreading hate all over. Why anyone whose family is paying Income Tax should be allowed to get this benefit. Will Modi be dare enough to take this correction and help only poor and needy.

reservation is not for economic upliftement alone. Some sections of the Indian society were subjected to generations of social, academic, economic, political oppression that they need help if they have to some how overcome this large gap that still exists in this society.

Totally wrong, if so then it is partiality act and against any democratic norm. Reservation was only for needy and deprived not for elite class. This is creating civil war in between people.

Reservation must be given only to BPL not above so that actual downtrodden is uplifted.
I salute Ambedkar Sir for his foersight. He has very clearly asked for reservation to down trodden people for a SPECiFIC period only. No party or the so called NGO's are pointing out this to the people. All are playing politics. Why cant rediff point out Ambedkars policy of reservation was only for initial years. Now no party wants to discontinue the policy. Further maximum benefit under the policy is usurped by rich politicians for the benefit of thier children. Come on at least now listen to Our great Indian whose vision was to limit reservation for initial years only. Rediff should make such efforts to make people understand the visionery.s policies.

Unfortunately, Rediff wont, cos it is too busy complying with a particular political directive.
The students of IITs in general and IIT M in particular should not be interested in the non-issues. All of us owe a duty to the nation and the generations bprn and unborn to tell the students everywhere that the ideas developed in them is constantly coherent and honestly methodical and that alone is a strong assertion of the wisdom.Let all of us encourage the Indian students who are profound in wisdom to endeavor to have publications in journals like Nature, Science etc and that apart have citations for their publications.. Just in case you want to lead an agitation on these lines I will wholeheartedly participate in such agitations. Please tell these students steady and mindful effort is inevitable if an individual is to get himself from his present ruts of mistaken philosophy and artificial assessment of life and living. Finally politics is per se not bad but politicking is Like � Reply � 20 hrs
IIT and IIM Loosing merit legacy and it is called as one among engg college because of caste based reservation introduced in IIT and IIMand prestigious instutions, indian political people should feel ASHAME of this kind of protest happening, what Ambedkar told reservation up to certain period, once SC,OBC,MBC, ST family attain engg qualification, doctor, lawyar, reservation for this groups will be scrapped,but this has become point for political parties and caste basedorganization survival on castes to be in power to loot money. In Tamilnadu, the main difference was on color, anti hindu, anti brahamin, anti north, these dravidian parties are root cause of language fanatisams, and caste based reservation in entire country. The Merit system has collapsed in TN, Due to anti brahamin attitude, recent IIT Ent exam, 20000 students passed in AP, But in TN, Only 3000 students passed, this is due to cancellation of entrance exam,for professional colleges,to ease backward class students, now this has resulted in negative impact of Tamilnadu education, whole india is evaluating educATION IN TN is coming down, i do not know how kalamji has sihned this when he was president,now TN is cause of meritless education. In 10th std exam this year 98 students got first rank, 200 in second rank, such a loose evaluation in TN due to samachir education. Whole india laughing about meritless education of tamilnadu.

Students undergo great ordeal to prepare for the entrance to IIT. After getting admission, it is their duty to perform academically well and pass out for career prospects. Why media is creating insinuations?
When Mr. Arun Shourie wrote a book titled Worshipping False Gods which cast doubts on BR Ambedkar's contribution, he was attacked by the media and physically assaulted in Mumbai (even though he was a Union Minister). When Salman Rushdie writes Satanic Verses, the book is banned in India. If Taslima Nasrin pens Lajja, she was manhandled in Hyderabad?

These so called group does not have any other job. Why they need to form a grp when they have to study and move out. There are so many out fits lying outside where they can express their political connection. Most of them looks like they joined collecge for fun, and spoiled chance of other deserving students. arundati roy, Congress goons, DMK and PMK goons , what is their interest in this?

This is the classic example how a premium educational institute gets spoilt by few bunch of worthless people who somehow got the chance to enter IIT just on the basis of their caste without any hard work. This is the result of Reservation & Quota system. Now these foolish people, who had never worked hard in their lives, are disturbing the decorum & reputation of the Institute bocas they had never anything to do with studies. Free me jo mil gaya sab kuch.
