Instead of cultivating fragments of land the farmers should be encouraged to form cooperatives so that large tracts of land come under community farming,as in China which was a drought and flood affected country, but with the help of technology they have over come natural calamities.But considering the fact that Indian farmers are sentimentally attached to their lands the Govt should encourage them for community farming.
The agriculture produce for example Rice produced by Farmers then it goes rice miller after that it goes to the middle man .The rice miller purchase all the produces which is produced by the farmer by his hard toils and shouldering lot of risk, at at cheaper rates and sells it to middle men.In this chain the 90% risk are borne by the farmers .But in industrial efforts if all the chains are assmebled the risk factors will be evenly consumed.Mor over the risk factors can be insurable also.
Farming has been now becoming most neglected occupation by people of India. Look at the core issues those are being causes of death of farmers. The Indian economy is purely based on agriculture. Whenever GDP or other indices of economic shows lacklustre performances Govt shows the reason of bad monsoon. But farmers and their woes have always been neglected by the Govt.The planning commission have failed to promote the base of agriculture after Green revolution had happened. After no other major changes came into fore , only what happened are the woes of farmers. There are no broader ,long term concepts of Govt regarding the agriculture in India.The long past age-old concepts which creep in the mindset regarding agriculture is that ,agricultural based products are only avenue to industry but agricuture itself is not an industry. Every industrious efforts like Iron,Cement,Textile etc ,even farming ,from core level should be taken as an Industry.Take farming as entrepreneurship ,make it a corporate initiative ,make every agricultural land holder as share holder .For all these, it needs infrastructures like all others sectors seek. For all these first it needs initiative from Govt itself like what happens in socialistic economy. Make all sectors capilatalistic but at the inception to show other promoters the headway keep the socialistic pattern in this Industry(Agriculture) to save the generation of farmers from got to be extinct.
Do we know how many others accept suicide, farmers are looked after by every govt. from 1950 onward, whereas common worker is not, he does not have land and not paid as much as he can maintain his family. India is a country with 80 crore farmers, few stray cases will happen due to drought and other conditions, of course govt. must look after the need of everyone.
Farmer need addition income to survive apart from farming reason is clear agriculture land getting reduced family of the farmer getting increase hence left little option to sell the crop in market first they have to feed themselves then they sell remaining crop in market is the biggest challenge become for their income. Dairy farming should be increased, Menrega, should be increased upto 200 days in year will be helpful to avoid farmer suicide. Fertilizer cost should be reduced as expense for producing crop, new technology should be used to produce more crop per acre land. Barren land can be agriculture land after some investment by government to improve the land soil to become agriculture land for producing more crop. Cheap power, crop insurance should be increased can save farmer from suicide.
Save farmers. Or the society will perish. We have nice delicious food at our dinning tables only when a farmer works in his fields. The miserable state of farmer is because AGRICULTURE HAS BECOME UNSUSTAINABLE TODAY.A farmer faces lot of financial,emotional,physical stress and cultivates crops, but at the end due to poor market he is forced to sell his produce in distress. This will pull the farmer into the vicious circle of debt. Through out India farmers are giving up agriculture and taking up other jobs. We are in a very very very precarious situation. If agriculture is effected, what will the growing population eat. From an IAS officer to a coolie, from a sergeant to a scientist, every body works only when his/her tummy is filled. So Agriculture is the basis of life. We have to open our eyes and understand this fact.The government may neglect all other sectors, if AGRICULTURE SECTOR IS NEGLECTED the society will collapse
