Mumbaikar
by DJ on Jul 26, 2015 08:40 PM

Its easy to use words \"forgive\" \"mercy\" for the person
1. who has not lost his pregnant wife in the Mumbai Blast
2. who has not lost his young brother just passed out of college with dreams in his eyes
3. who has not lost his innocent kid waiting to celebrate B\'day with his Dad

Still this person has got Freedom to Speech and can play with emotions of 260 people...

I cant define this person and cant blame him too as someone said \"Experience Matters\" BUT BUT BUT i pray no one in the world goes through such experience

by Rajagopalan on Jul 26, 2015 08:30 PM

The signatories of this pettition from TN, just want to gain votes .. Citing the decision , they may ask for the release of Rajiv Gandhi killers..
This will set bad precedent.. The govt must abolish hanging or treat and judge the cases within time frame// No appeals

More than what is evident
by Amit Ashtekar on Jul 26, 2015 08:29 PM

For all the brouhaha that has generated ever since Yakub Memon's sentencing, one thing must be certain that there surely was a deal between Yakub Memon & the Intelligence Bureaus for some quid-pro-quio. In all likelihood, the Intelligence Bureau has got nothing from Yakub Memon as promised by him, since not a single prime culprit of the bombings have been arrested till date. The IB is unable & cannot reveal the entire facts. If not hanged, it is Yakub Memon who will have the last laugh, who will get away easily without even a single letting out of information.

Simply put, there is more than what meets the eye.

Suspect Decision
by Manian on Jul 26, 2015 08:21 PM

Everybody agree that except the creator no body has the right to take life, but the new clemency petition signed by learned judges, academicians, solicitors the contents though titled mercy petition creates legal question, in-equality in handling similar cases and the perception about India in the international forum etc. Why at this moment and not earlier and why only in this case and not in earlier case when person was hanged in parliament attack case. If the legal defense in this case has not taken the above aspect, is there any other legal remedy possible like review petition etc. This issues why not addressed earlier by such intellectuals earlier and do we have to assume that our judiciary would not have considered those aspects even if if is not pleaded [which you may get only if you are defended by such high paid lawyers who knows the intricacies and are also respected for the professional acumen]. The letter seems to be just more than just a mercy petition.

Spare him from the noose: Judges, politicians urge president
by jaidyal pal on Jul 26, 2015 07:32 PM

Since it is not a ordinary case but a very sensitive one & already taken political colours. But if the Judiciary wanted to punish him by hanging ,why they took so many yrs to punish? So no accountability for judiciary as well & by the way why those who allow RDX to flow in the country are left free .They were equally responsible for for the Bombay blast & should have been hanged to death with Yakub Memon to set an example to the Nation.
So whole Judicial system need review to cater for the present age Why taking 22 yrs to decide a case like this which should hv taken max. 2/3 yrs.
Above all since Yakub Memon brought back all his family members to India & proved himself to be decent man need pardon from one & all & thus should be spared from the Gallows till the main culprit Tiger Memon & Dawood to be brought to India & hanged till death.
No loss of human being & suffering to near & dear ones of those who lost their lives in the tragedy can be brought back but @ least one life of Yakub Memon can be spared.
May the justice prevail.
