Similar articles should also be written on lesser known generals like Mahadaji Scindia, Hari Singh Nalwa etc.

Mandar Pawar
Great King
by Mandar Pawar on Dec 23, 2015 09:06 PM  | Hide replies

How many Indians know that Bajirao was one of the greatest king and a master of military tactics we had ever seen with a unmatchable record of 100% win in battles and 0% defeat.

Yes, in his entire life he fought 42 major battles and won them all and never ever lost even a single battle.

Who tried hiding this information from new generations.
Why even after we got independence we never tried correcting out text books taught in schools, and just passed on the information British printed and wanted us to learn and remember.

Please correct your self. Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj was the King and Bajirao was the Prime Minister and de facto ruler, however after the death of Shahu Maharaj, Chhatrapatis became King with no role to play and Peshwas were rulers but never aspired to be Kings

NO CASTE , NO CREED , NO RELIGIOUS BIAS . HIS GREATEST QUALITY WAS THAT OF LEADING THE CAVALRY ! THAT WAS HIS FORTE'. HE WAS A MASTER OF STRATAGEM . WHAT HE SAID ABOUT "STRIKING AT THE ROOTS " , IS TRANSLATED INTO CURRENT MILITARY PARLANCE AS " STRIKING AT THE CENTER OF GRAVITY " . I WISH ALL CAVALRY OFFICERS READ THE PALKHED CAMPAIGN AND MANY OF HIS OTHER BATTLES .NO TWO ONES WERE THE SAME ! EACH A MASTERPIECE . BUT THAT IS WHAT MILITARY MEN ARE ABOUT .!!!

Excellent article.I t should be an eye opener to all those so called secular historians who think that secular credentials rely on glorifying Muslim invaders and belittling Hindu kings. How else do you explain objection to calling Maharana Pratap as great? When Akbar can be great why not Maharana Pratap??

I me myself

I appreciate the writer for writing nice piece of articles, his article on beef eating was incredibly legitimate .But I wonder why Indian always look back to history and try to discover affiliation of oneself with gone by period instead of thinking about future. Perhaps it implies that Indian only love I, me, and myself.

A Great Warrior Next Only To Raja Shivaji Maharaj
by Narendra on Dec 23, 2015 02:39 PM

A gifted intelligent Maratha Warrior has never lost a battle was forgotten by our own people. During my school days I that have leaarned history Bajirao Peshwa has in his short span of life of 41 years he has won all 40 battles. As rightly said by the renowned author the wizard of Allahabad and his discovery of India failed to recognize Bajirao Peshva's inportance in our history. Thanks to the author and to the film The Great Son Of Maharashtra,Bajirao Peshwa will be known to India.

Mr Aakar Patel and Sahik Khan, Read some history books by Indian and foreign authors and you will know who the Bajirao and what the Maratha empire was all about. You guys just don\'t know the kind of discipline, courage, sacrifices and patriotism of Maratha Kings.
