British constitution
by Sameer Shaikh on Sep 20, 2014 07:36 PM  | Hide replies

Lee Kuan Yew ex PM of Singapore told this in an interview to Europe that if Singapore had continued with the original constitution that british gave us since Singapore was a british colony before it gained independence and had brief merger with Malaysia it would have created disorder in Singapore. Singapore was difficult place to operate when he took over since there was internal problem in Vietnam,Cambodia, indonesia and malaysia plagued by riots, genocide and political problem. He said we had to change our constitution like we took little liberty from media to publishing anything in print and electronic media, get a permit before holding strike, media watchdog to monitor political speeches and movement in civil society and not to get people agitated and excited.

Any type of people who halted economic development and social harmony in the society were locked up in jail without trial. Lee Kuan Yew political party member once had created different ideology to favor chinese Singaporeans but they were stopped by Lee Kuan Yew. He said the hallmark of any civil society is each and every person to be treated equally and there would be no second citizen. They did not say that but proved and implemented that under his guidance.

After getting freedom from malaysia due to fundamental difference with Tunku the leader of Malaysia, they reworked their constitution, adopted authoritarian style, removed corruption, had judicial reforms and social law changed for people, quick decisions

to open a business, strong legal system for property rights and commercial dispute which gained confidence of world leaders to bring investment. First Lee Kuan Yew did cleansing of corruption, removed social evils, made strong judicial reforms which included halting communist. Lee Kuan Yew frequently said during his initial struggle he had to fight battle with communist who did not wanted industrialization and investment in the country. Only after strong reforms investment came and was effective in long term growth

Now Mr Modi... so called visionary leaders by even so called intellectuals of India (doubt these intellectuals logic)is begging for investment to build strong manufacturing hub in India will make it happen because India is still filled with corruption, weak law, slow legal process where there are so many backlog of cases, strikes in some area and slow movement in paperwork and formalities to open a business.

To add his party people have criminal MP's, who makes communal statement often in a month, hooligan parties as alliance and a flavor for crony capitalism where corporates run the show and dictate policy making in country and not politicians. Democracy is only meant for these crony capitalist like Ambani, Adanis and Birlas.

In short will Modi want only development? he wants to corruption, communalism and weak judicial system to continue? Or modi will do judicial reforms and corruption after investment comes? His vision is not clear on this...

Modi-Xi talks
by kumar kn on Sep 20, 2014 06:07 PM

Modi told Xi that if there is even a small tooth ache the whole body suffers. Xi has got the message that unlike the spineless and clueless Congress leaders Modi is made of sterner stuff. It is good Modi is balancing China, US and Japan to India's advantage.

Being a Gujarati he is a strewed businessman. He has given the Chinese a face saving formula to withdraw the few troops. Let's give him some time to achieve results. Good that Sheila has finally accepted that the UPA govt failed to initiate and inspire. Hope that from now on she will write more positive stories about Modi.
