In spite of complete disregard shown towards Shri Patel, congress's claim to his legacy is woefully fake. It is to the credit of Mr. Modi to show some respect due to the great man.

I agree. Even in the Gujarat the congress Bhavan is name as Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan not Sardar Bhavan, thus Gujarat Congress still ignoring Sardar , which no party in Gujarat can afford to ignore Sardar for political existance.
First nehru's selfish deed tried to claim entire fame of freedom fighting and as sole achiever. that continued up to 1962 camouflaging others contribution. after 1962 when chin plucked his feathers.Shstri's rule was short lived.after 1965 war he lost his lost his life in taskent.Then came the rule and monopoly of Indira gandhi.with short break of VP sing and others. again she took the reign in her hand.After her assassination her dear son took the charge.then came the rule of VP sing and Dewe gouda later five years ATal ji again the aligns of great parties.last ten are the glorious years Of Soniya flooded with scams Senegalese slogans anarchy PM was just court jester rapes explosions of bombs by terrorists in evry part of the country.who thinks sardar!!!
This is of the best things Mr Modi could have done.
Right from Independence all one heard from the Congress Party was as if there were no other leaders of note in the party than Nehru and the hordes of pseudo Gandhis that followed him. In the wake, people such as Shastri, Patel, Bose, Bhagat Singh, and a host of much more deserving Nationalist and Congress leaders were forgotten along the way.
For some reason the ‘Gandhi-ists’ in the Congress dared not jettison Mahatma ‘the original’ Gandhi. Every 2nd Oct it was the Mahatma who was remembered ….with no mention of Lal Bahadur Shastri. 31st Oct was for Indira Gandhi with nary a mention of Patel – even prior to 1984.
One is fed up of the roads, buildings, plans, schemes and whatnots named after these pseudo-Gandhis.
