Exclusive! When India and Pakistan nearly reached an agreement
by Purushottam Singi on Nov 28, 2014 01:21 PM

The interview with Mr.Khueshid Nahnoud Kasuri is honest and transparent. But, he should have given a hint of agreed framework. Indians analogy 'Nixon going to China' did not and does not fit in India Pakistan relationship.
The agreed solution could be partition of Jammu & Kashmir, where in Pakistani controlled area remaining with them with some special provision for movement of people, goods and services.
I had recently suggested to Mr. Narendra Modi, the PM, to facilitate a kind of Round Table Conference of all Jammu and Kashmir stake holders, without participation of government representatives, both Indians and Pakistani, to get a feel of people of all regions of Jammu & Kashmir.
Unfortunately, media in India and to some extent government communique are treating Pakistani occupied Kashmir as Pakistani territory. Which is not. Even Pakistani constitution does not recognize it as Pakistani territory.
Elections are being held in Jammu & Kashmir, but the Pakistani occupied areas of J&K should also be represented in the Assembly, even if we may have to nominate them proportionally or otherwise on basis of strength of parties getting seats.
We have neglected the Constitutional rights of people of Pakistani occupied areas of erstwhile Jammu & Kashmir Riyasat.

And why should we?
Pakistan is a great betrayer of our contemporary world.
Pakistani Junta is the greatest liar. It betrayed us since the inception of our independence.
Now tell me how we the Indian can trust Pakistan??

May not agree totally with the article, but past is only now a history, only solution in between India and PAK is LOC whether PAK agrees today or tomorrow, Kashmiris are also to understand that No separatists activity will give them better living, they will have to live with India, any delay is only hampering their welfare only and uncertainly and under development of the the region.

INDIA PAKISTAN RELATIONS
by jagannadh rao on Nov 28, 2014 11:52 AM  | Hide replies

IT SEEMS TO BE A DEEP ROOTED CONSPIRACY PLAYED BY BOTH THE SIDES TO KEEP THE INDIAN AND PAKISTANI RELATIONS IN A PERMANENT STATE OF TURMOIL AND UNREST.I THINK THAT THIS SHADOW BOXING WITH SOME CIVILIAN CASUALTIES AND MILITARY CASUALTIES THROWN IN TO GIVE IT SOME SEMBLANCE OF REALITY ARE SCRIPTED BY THE POLITICIANS AND THE BUREAUCRATS ON BOTH THE SIDES OF BORDER TO SERVE THEIR OWN SELFISH INTERESTS. LET MANI SHANKAR AIYAR WHO IS MORE FAMOUS FOR HIS LOOSE REMARKS RUSH ACROSS THE BORDER AND SHOW HIS METTLE IN SOLVING THE ISSUE ONCE AND FOR ALL. ONE SOLUTION THAT SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED IS FOR ALL OUR POLITICIANS MIGRATE TO PAKISTAN AND FOR ALL PAKISTANI POLITICIANS TO MIGRATE TO INDIA.THE BUREAUCRATIC SERVICES SHOULD BE COMBINED INTO ONE AND DISTRIBUTED BY A LOTTERY BETWEEN THE TWO NATIONS. THE RESULTANT CHAOS WILL GIVE THE LONG SUFFERING CITIZENS OF PAKISTAN AND INDIA MOMENTS OF PEACE AND STOP ALL TALK AND ACTS OF WAR.

well, they had bhutto who got emboldened by the americans and that lends credence to such hypothesis that maybe the politicians are the guys to really blame.
Behind, or alongside them will be the arms dealers and mercenaries, who are their ways and means. The army in pakistan is probably now a business for arms companies around the world and also a support system for those who want to conduct war or level terms with other religions for current or historical reasons.

I wouldn't think our Indian army and defence serves anything besides the country. There might be ruthless individuals who might leverage the situation in terms of arms procurment etc. but that those must be the rotten ones.

So, i don't think the politicians might be trying to fix something, but create doubts of their intentions because of the rhetoric - they aren't politicians without the rhetoric, dangerous in some conditions. c'est la vie ?!

I salute you being optimist.
But coming back to reality
No citizen wants war Kings want it its their name which gets glorified and not of lakhs whos blood is shed on the ground.
Here the kings are
a) Army In Pakistan and India
b) The middle man who supplies arms to both the country
c) the polotician who hum drum the issue every time
Good to be optimist but lets have some realism
