Ask Modi to remember Lal Bahadur Shastri. Modi will remember only a Gujarati Patel. He is least bothered about other leaders. Some body from U.P should glorify the deeds of Shastri.

The congress leaders in the last 30 to 40 years never talk about our father of nation Mahathma Gandhi in any international forums, they must feel happy Modiji taking about him every where abroad and people started appreciating his Ahimsa. Pandit Nehru was the first prime minister, we should give recognition but not for the sake of a particular family. How the media is calling the present congress as oldest party, the present congress is started by Smt.Indira Gandhi, the symbol hand , she inspired from senior sankaracharya of Kanchi, so how can this congress compared with old congress?

there are no words like "Father of Nation"
ever addressed to Gandhi officially, Nation is too old, do don't use it , 'it is sin to call some one father of Nation , one can be worthy Son of Nation but can't be father. Gandhi was the worthy Son of the Nation.
This is misnomer , and please don't use it.

India's destiny was caught by the Congress opportunists and today its become one of the complicated economy and society. We Indians have become most corrupt unethical, selfish and in the lowest character because of the last 60 yrs blunders. Nothing is staright forwards in us and we are always crooked looking for short cuts and never honest to our own selves. So we shall not be proud of Congress which should be our first enemy to be destroyed for ever.Any genuine Indian should admit and agree this fact.

Not only Nehru. Kamaraj was also attacked and his residence in Delhi was burnt by Jansanghis but he escaped. Such was the hatred they had. Here so many pitible creatures are spitting venom! If Nehru was not the PM them India would have been broken into 24 to 30 countries. We will be still believing everything is in 4 Vedhas and all inventions were in pre-historic India and we need not learn anything modern.

Can Nehru be forgotten?
by raman govindan on Nov 16, 2014 10:10 AM  | Hide replies

yes! it should!

Nehru's policies continuede and brought perpetual miseriis and poverty or to most of Indians!

He never forced family planning, nor insisted on improving literacy. they were the two essential factors for national development. His secularism and economic policies were pedestrian and oriented to get votes and provide berth for his children at the top of political establishment! An example is his dismissal of Namboodripad's ministry on his decision to pay the aided college and school teachers directly under the influence and church, Muslim educational society and NSS, a Hindu Caste organization!

Country has to work now every week 24/7 when his birth anniversary falls on to compensate the backlog we suffered!

Nehru is a tall leader
by Viswanathan ES on Nov 16, 2014 07:01 AM  | Hide replies

Nehru, no doubt, is a tall leader. the problem is the portraying of Nehru family by Congress party as the only family which mattered. Contribution from other tall leaders are not mentioned at all. That's what irritates apolitical people like me. The importance given to Patel, although a political move, corrects some of the wrongs.

If Congress party portrays Nehru/Gandhi family as a pivot for their rallying; whats wrong with Nehru then?
This is the character a big organisation adopts in due course of times after its formation.
Don't forget Modi is behaving in an undemocratic manner. At least we can't blame Nehru of being autocratic in his behaviour.
Lets admit- Nehru family have contributed a lot in shaping modern India in a much better way than any family else.
