If not for so called iron Lady , you would be seeing India like Pakistan or a south Korea totally in control of USA and we would ve had no self respect

The author says that Indians were given hobson's choice. It is totally untrue. If celebration of Patel's birthday is done, it does not automatically mean Indira should be forgotten. What is the author talking about, misleading? Yes Indira was great, in some ways, but it should not beforgotten that she was also autocrat, imposed Emergency, curbed press freedom, intimated the judiciary, etc. What is the author's defence of these black acts?
such a Iron Lady who sends army inside Golden Temple to kill those very militants she herself created. And the same very iron lady failed to teach Pakistan a lesson even when Indian forces won the 1971 war so handsomely.

What more lesson you wanted for Pakistan when Pakistan even after having migty USA support was crushed by this iron lady and they were forced to part half their land.
In those days being an enemy of USA like India required guts not sycophancy like MMS or modi
to get back Pakistan occupied kashmir during the 1971 war which India had won hand down. This Iron lady could just send army inside Golden temple where innocents were killed more than the militants. Mind you the leader of these militants in Punjab was the creation of this very Iron lady.

That was the right decision as the terrorists have made the holy temple as their safe haven. No innocents were killed but only the outlaws.
