Opening statement is that 'Modi could become the Nehru of the 21st century'. Why should he (Modi) become a Nehru? Has he (Modi) told at any point of time that he is aspiring to emulate Nehru? Nehru is not Modi's icon.

What Hindoo values? Ghazni came - India defeated. Ghuri came - India defeated. Babar came - India defeated ...... Mughal rule for 100s of yrs ...... Brief Maratha rule (so Marathis and their state hated!) Brits came - India defeated

what has values got to do with winning or getting defeated. If your enemy overpowers you in number and/or warskills or strategies better then you, you have lesser chances of defending or winning. But how is values associated with it.

Sony Walkman. New story? What happened to your old story that Modi will lose?
Mr Ram Kelkar, if you keep repeating the words "Charaiveti, Charaiveti" you will soon be accused of saffronization and pushing a hindutva or communal agenda.
Secondly your comparison with Hynd0u PIOs in america is totally baseless.
Hynd0u PIOs do not go around preaching to americans saying xteeanity is an eveel fff@ith and that its foll0wwers will go to he|l.

It is OK for Muzlims and Xtains to bring theirRELIGION into public everyday, but not for Hindus!
Well, BJP did indeed make India shining through their India shining slogan in 2004 which was hugely advertised and commercialized throughout the electoral campaign. However, the ruling party then ignominously lost despite preponing the election on expectation of a fantastic victory. What it went to prove that the liberal and global agenda of economics just didn't work with the electorate. This time it was the turn of UPA-II which is facing the music after it swerved away from its Aam Aadmi ideals which propelled it to power against all odds. However, in 2009, the UPA regime came to power on a renewed bigger mandate primarily on the back of toning down of neo-liberal agenda. But, with the victory in 2009, the Congress got arrogated and became totally insensitive to the misgivings of the masses and vociferously implemented the neo-liberal agenda with a vengeance. The trio of Manmohan, Chidambaram and Ahluwali who had no stakes in elections and not accountable to the people took big ticket decisions benefiting Corporates at the cost of commoners. Coupled with gigantic scams surfacing one after another along with a heady mix of neo-liberal agenda, made the party so much unpopular that it is now humiliatingly fighting for the main opposition party status. I do not think Modi led BJP will learn anything from history for they wrongly interpret the current mandate to vigorously implement neo-liberal agenda. The fact is that Modi in his campaign never was transparent.
Re: Will anybody learn lessons from history ?
by Milachen on May 22, 2014 04:25 PM
Modi in his campaign was never transparent about his economic vision. He just moaned upon poverty, price rise, unemployment, scams in generic terms while being careful not to unveil his economic ideals. He just identified himself as a poor who knows and feels their pain. However, his Gujarat model was perfect anathema to what he espoused in his National campaigns. Alas, the BJP's economic policies are not radically different from what was espoused by the UPA regime and where it differs is in terms of the severity. BJP implements the so-called economic reforms with zealousness and little dissent while in the Congress, there is some balance with voice of dissent surfacing now and then.

Re: Re: Re: Will anybody learn lessons from history ?

Modi did lose. He is a victor only due to our faulty first past the post system where the winner takes all. By making himself the central focus of the campaign and making it as a Presidential contest, his party got just 31 percent of the votes and his alliance got another 7% making a total of 38% which means about 62% of the voting population voted against his candidature. Add to this, the 33% who didn't vote and extrapolate it to BJP's vote share of 31%, it would only come to about 20%.

Milachen change your name to khoyachen already lost a game lost is lost whether by 1-0 or 10-0 it makes no difference if your living in India you have to follow the practices. In 2004 congress does not mandata still managed with arch rivals supporting it from inside/outside issue based whatever name you call it at that time you might be happy stop calculations and wait for 2019 by then Modiji will ensure 62% votes and make you happy.

It is about the present only we can debate and the truth is Modi's candidature secured only about 38% of the votes for NDA alliance with the rest voting against it. You forward a logic that we have to follow the practices even if they are absurd. Well, I am not able to agree with that. I cannot digest a system where Candidate 1 secures 3,20,000 votes, while the Candidate 2 secures 2,80,000 votes an yet candidate 1 becomes the winner and takes all. The over 2,80,000 votes polled for Candidate 2 virtually goes unnoticed and you are here defending such a wretched system just because your Modi won. In your blind love for Modi, you are overcome with bias and prejudice.

Do not try to act too smart and expose your ignorance. Look at my post clearly and I said that Modi is a victor due to our faulty first past the post system. He is a victor today and he might become a victim tomorrow of the same flawed system. The wheel always turns for good as well as bad.

ha ha ha, so strange isnt it? We have such people in India and thats the real problem for any development. These people can only think in one direction. They like frogs in a pond. So sad!!
Hindu religion does not preach & teach hatred. It practices only peaceful existence of all living beings. So the word secularism itself is used to suit the requirements of politically vested interests.
Re: Fake Secularism
by Milachen on May 22, 2014 04:26 PM
When Hindooism has massive intolerance within, how can it claim that it does not teach hatred ?
Re: Re: Re: Fake Secularism
by Milachen on May 22, 2014 05:21 PM
Nice joke. Well, kiddo - you are really kidding. Didn't you hear your Modi flaunting his OBC status and his tirade against the Gandhi on Neech jaati ?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fake Secularism
by Milachen on May 23, 2014 10:00 AM
What new story ? It is evident that you do not read Press regularly. Look for Priyanka's Neech Rajneeti comments and your Modi's flaunt reply to it taking up his caste, you will get the answer ? Even your Modi thinks that casteism is here to stay and that is the bane of Hinduism for time immemorial. The BJP foot soldiers in UP and Bihar harvested the OBC votes only by flaunting the so-called backward caste of Modi. Infact Hinduism is not even a religion perse and is just a coined term given by the Mughals who invaded us.
If Modi classify our caste into only two ie., economically forward and backward without secularism, Hinduvta etc. Developments in industry and agricultural domain will reduce the difference between these two . Then we become super power by 2020 and Modi will be the foremost leader and he is capable of doing it. Opposition instead of doing filthy politics behave like a constructive opposition can recover respectful status slowly. Otherwise they are drowned and finished forever. We need a strong and constructive opposition also to keep the democracy alive ? All the youngsters hope for a mighty India and they must be proud that the rest of the world raise their eyebrows at you living in super power in the days to come , economically, culturally and agriculturally. Dho ankein bara hath. Stand up and make a strong bridge of unity and make a continuous non stop journey towards prosperity.
Re: two caste
by M A on May 22, 2014 04:21 PM
Where is the opposition. You talk about constructive opposition, but the expected opposition - the congress could not make any constructive government or governance during the past 10 years. In that case how do you expect congress to raise voice in parliament? Is there any leader in congress who can talk constructively in parliament today? They have digged their own grave yard and now they have to rest in piece. Modi will take care of India.
R.Kelkar is an RSS supporter; now RSS's want to wash their sin of MAHATAMA GANDHI's ASSINATION by it, comparing WORLD FAMOUS INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS stalwarts; knowing well they will have to take 100 rebirths.
What BJP got in this election is only 30% support; while 70% have rejected their scheme and proposals; but country respects electoral verdict and wait for fall of this FAKUCHAND, the way Arvind Kejriwal bite the dust in greed to gather power.
Wait and Watch........
this drama of Maa(his old Mother), Beta( Fakuchand), who(Anandiben Patel) and Bibi(new found wife Jasodaben).
His fall has already began with arrest of his "challenger" Arvind Kejriwal, yesterday.

You great fools keep crying & singing the past, certainly likes of you have no hope & future for yourself what to speak of the Nation.Likes of you must be send to boarders of India facing Pak/ China & ie only way to set likes of you right so that all of you contribute positively to the progress rather than living in the past & praising the dead & doing nothing for the progress/ improvement of our Nation. It is victory of Majority who want to see self & this nation progressing with ethics.P.M "NAMO" is best suited @ the helm to play that role in the best interest of this Nation & traitors keep murmering & shedding crocodile tears nothing can be better than the majority once again ruling the Nation. Those who are/were anti national & non progressive parties has been are shown the door in this parliamentary election fewer parties of MAMTA's TMC & Jailalita's AIDMK will meet the same fate in future if they don't see what
